Top 8 Reason T.O. Was Telling The Truth

I haven't heard that.

I mean, yeah, its a lot easier if you want to be a PD or work in the DA's office, clearly. Or do JAG.

Nobody wants to do that, so they'll take anybody.

But there are plenty of mid-range or small transactional firms, and they can't all get the valedictorians from Harvard. And its just as hard to be a litigator (say, tort claims) at a big firm.

Heck, I want to start my own place anyway, eventually. I could do real estate law for a while if I really needed to, down in NC.

And plenty of lawyers get hired down there from Campbell and NC Central, which is even lower than where I am.
That's true. There's an entire legal world outside of OCI, but law students tend to forget that.

Hospitals today are terrified of lawsuits. Thats why they have protocalls to protect themselves. If it was later shown that they knowingly let TO go after having more then reasonable doubt that he was ok then they set themselves up for all sorts of bad news.

Not in Texas thanks to "tort reform."

Ha, I turned in about three resumes and said frick it.

Most of these places were looking for top 25%. I am about 50%, there was no way I was getting a callback.

I am gonna start cold calling.... though I hear that is a tough proposition as well.

There is always that one firm that had the top 85% requirement though, lol.

We are having a good debate on that other thread, so dont think for a sec, that I am getting soft.

But I certainly wish you the best of luck as far as pursuing a career. NC is growing by leaps and bounds, real estate law for the immediate future could be a very good thing to start out. Again, Good Luck with it all.

I wish you the best of luck coming to terms with the fact that Deion Sanders was a better CB than Darrell Green.

I really don't like to see people saying foolish things... honest. I guess that's where all the rage comes from.

I havent said Green was better. You have made an assumption that is what was implied.

You know in real estate you have to read alot right ?

We can revisit THAT subject depending on whether I can get a job next summer or not.

If you ain't in the top 10% GPA wise, and you aren't coming from a top 100 school, people aren't exactly falling all over themselves to hire you.

Good to find another law student on the board. Where do you go? What year are you?

I'm a 1L at UC Davis, King Hall.

I think T.O. is telling the truth, his publicist however is not.

I dont think he had an allergic reaction either, I think he overdosed. Not intentionally mind you, just that he did.

However "allergic reaction" sounds much better than, "Overdosed". I guess at least she did part of her job right.
I agree. Mainly because I'm confused by the allergic reaction thing. I thought the trouble was caused by the pain-killers mixing with the supplements he was taking? I'm no doctor and can't make that connection. Anyone have any knowledge in that area?

Hey I'm a fan and work for the media. Every single point this poster has made is complete homerism.

TO was working on his buzz, working on his unhappiness, or his hand hurt a lot and the painkillers worked so he took a bunch of them.

Either K Etheredge is hysterical or she did the right thing. She probably did the right thing given the circumstances. Dallas PD/DFD did the right thing. Dallas media did the right thing given the report. ... Either way TO's going to be a man possessed vs the Titans.

I agree... How many people here have been prescribed Hydrocodone.. ok.. now how many of you have taken more than one pill?... if one knocks you out of it a bit, imagine if you took 3.. my guess is that you would be pretty groggy and unresponsive as was the state that his publicist found him. But I guess that's too simple of an explanation. I don't even know if I would call it an overdose.. but certainly more than you need.

He will go on slant patterns over the middle and burn corners on fade routes the guy is just flat out more physical and versitle than any other WR in the league.

In short he's the best and the best dont Kill Themselves..

That's your top 8...:starspin

we will never know the truth. but i'm just glad its over and he's ok and in good spirits

The information is very easy to find. Just pop "hydrocodone side effects" into Google search and you'll find no shortage of information.

"allergic reaction" "mental cloudiness" "sluggishness" "unconsciousness" are among the side effects.

Essentially, hydrocodone, by itself, could have caused the symptoms reported by Owens.

The old college GPA.

LSAT was fine. GPA... not so fine.

And it was all because I spend too much time on these damn message boards.

Clearly... I've learned nothing.

Don't worry! I have it on good authority that Reality will hire you to be the resident law-guy here, and pay you 3x the amount that he's paying you now.

5. The Cowboys would not have allowed him to hold a press conference at Valley Ranch today. They would have instead talked to him about checking into a treatment center.

I'm not totally on board with your list, but I think this is a strong point. Pat Forde made it too:

Then came star-of-the-show T.O., who certainly did not appear to be a guy who tried to kill himself the night before. Nor would you think an organization as media-savvy as the Cowboys would trot the guy out in front of a voyeuristic world if he seemed mentally unstable. Owens would have been in a treatment center, not in front of a wall of cameras.

7. Jerry Jones would have made an appearance at the press conference.

This is the one.......I don't understand. I thought he WOULD be there.

Anyone defending the media after yesterday is part of the problem.
