Should the cowboys go with free safety or an ofensive linemen or just best available? Justin Blalock would be great but Bill would probably not go toward an offensive linemen that early in the draft. Are there any good free safety 's in the draft that worth going first round?

:welcome: to the forum. My wish list is headed by FS Laron Landry, though I think he will be gone unless some more Juniors declare before 1/19 and push him down.

I would not be at all upset with a top notch LT, but I think Levi Brown is the only prospect in that range. I just don't see him as the pick while Columbo and Flo are here. If Flo is 86ed, maybe.

Blalock wouldn't be bad, but I hate drafting Guards in the 1st.

CB is also a possibility.

blalock's solid on pass blockin' - but lacks the push on the run

If we are talking about who will be there, well at this point I have no clue how it will shape up. I really like Landry though.

If we are talking wish list then it starts with Alan Branch Michigan.

I think this versatility improves the chances that he'll be our pick.

considering BIll hardly drafts Olinemen in the 1st, and Jerry is openly against that idea

I doubt it

Justin Blalock OT/G/C Texas

STRENGTHS
Justin is a very powerful offensive lineman. He shows excellent leadership skills and mental toughness. He also shows good foot movement and knows most - if not all - of the offensive line positions. He has played at tackle and guard and, although I have not seen him play center, I have no doubt about his ability to play that position also. In fact, for the NFL level, I would think that the center position would be an impact position for Justin to play once he is drafted. Justin is one of the few O-linemen in this draft that blocks evenly well in protecting his QB or blowing holes in the defense for his RB. He is an excellent pulling O-lineman and has no problems firing out and attacking a linebacker. Justin can play more than one position in any style of offensive system.

NEEDS TO IMPROVE
Justin’s techniques are a bit sketchy at times because he has been moved around so much along the offensive line. This is normal and he should improve very quickly once he has settled in to one position.

TALENT BOARD ROUND: 1
Justin might be the best O-lineman in this draft. He might not be the first one picked, but he certainly could be and it would not surprise me. I’m not sure Justin has the lateral agility to play Left Tackle at the pro level; however, I bet if you put him at that position, you wouldn’t be sorry. He can play any of the other positions on the line and before long, you will see him in the Pro Bowl -- sooner rather than later. Justin has a very high LTI ratio. He will get on the field and help a team right away. He has first round talent to play more than one position. I really hope that at the combine, they test this kid out as a center because I think in the near future he could be a good one. Justin reminds me a lot of LeCharles Bentley (C - Cleveland Browns). He is bigger, but just as tough. I call him Justin (Time) Blalock because the team that drafts him will be getting one hell of an O-lineman (just in time) to go to the Super Bowl.

I'd love to steal Antoine Cason from Arizona in the 2nd round.

I'd like a WR....possibly Jarrett? Not sure if his attitude is a red flag or not.

Amobi Okoye is an intriguing (sp) prospect. If he were to be there I think I'd take him.

I know he can, but I think he is better suited as a Guard in the NFL.

Didnt he choose to remain in school?

FS Laron Landry or Reggie Nelson it is!

I think it'd be nice to get a young stud WR for a change. TO could implode at any minute and he and TG are getting old anyway. Plus that'd give a kid a year to get acclimated cause no matter how good they are it helps to do that.

Stud players at that position in their prime almost never come available in FA unless they got baggage.. whereas sometimes good players like at o-line and certain defensive positions do because a team might already have a ton of money tied up in their o-line or LB's as it is and cant keep all of them even if they want to.

I was away on vacation for the last 4 days. Before I left they were expecting Cason to declare, so if he announced he is returning I haven't heard it.

I like that idea too of a young WR, been calling for us to draft one w/ potential to sit behind our vets for a couple of years now

for me, it's OLB, WR or CB in the 1st
