Top NFL compensatory draft picks Larry Allen #2

Marcus Allen? Jared Allen? George Allen?

What you just did is called a "headless snake" in the world of journalism. LOL

But that's interesting. I forgot Larry was a comp pick.

I thought of that after but I cannot edit the title.

Thought this was another Jared Allen thread for a second.

Interesting article. I also didn't realize LA was a comp pick. Same with Brian Dawkins and Hines Ward.

I guess that was for losing Ken Norton in 1993. I guess it worked out although losing Norton sucked.

I make that trade every day and twice on Friday, throwing in my least favorite child as a sweetener.

Allen is the only compensatory draft pick in the Hall of Fame. He had quite a career in the NFL, starting 197 of 203 games and making 11 Pro Bowls and seven All-Pro teams. He was voted to both the NFL's 1990s and 2000s All-Decade Teams.

Just goes to show you how valuable those picks are. I am not in the camp of "trade a bunch of 7th rounders to move up in the 6th" crowd. I would rather target 6 possibly undervalued players in the 7th round and take flyers, especially with our recent history with undrafted free agents.

I don't think a team can trade compensatory picks.

I went in thinking "Who the heck would be above Larry Allen as a comp pick? Oh. Yeah, that's legit."

11 picks in this draft with those 3 comps. And as was said, you can't trade them. But still 11 drafted players, would be very hard for all of them to make the team. as much as we need some good depth as some starters too. I would rather have 7 or 8 players with a little more value from them. Not PS players or camp guys.

I can see trading a few of the tradable picks, get back into the 6th round or higher.

I can see us taking some that may have been FAs

The more players you draft, the better chance you have hitting on one. As deep as this draft is, take all the picks you can get. Also, it reduces the chances of losing UDFA's by drafting them.
