If the season ended now the top seeds would be Patriots and the Cardinals.
Both teams missed the playoffs last year with Az finishing 8-8 and NE 7-9. The last time both top seeds were coming off non playoff seasons was 1992 with 49ers (14-2) and Steelers(11-5).
Neither made the Super Bowl. 49ers lost to Cowboys in championship game and Steelers lost to Bills in divisional round.
