There are so many ways to coach in the NFL that it's virtually impossible to compare them apples to apples. So, in no particular order

Fox
Marv Lewis
BP
Cowher
Holmgren
Belichick
Shanahan
Mike Nolan (you'll see!)
Gibbs
Billick

I agree with you I think Mike Nolan is going to be an excellent coach

I felt that BP was the best coach in football long before he became the Cowboys coach.
What he did for the Giants, Patriots and jets was nothing short of incredible and yes it has taken him longer here than expected but it was one heck of a mess.
I trully believe that the effect Bill has had on this franshise will be enjoyed for many years beyond his tenure here...

As for Cowher even before this Superbowl win , I had felt if Parcells wasnt here he is the guy I would want.....

He sucked in Washington with very talented players on D.

I understand that but there is something about him that I really like...
Of course I liked Mike TIce and still do think Tice is better than half the coaches in the league

I like Marvin Lewis as much as the next guy, but what exactly has he done to be ranked so high? with all the top 10 choices they had, they've better have panned out with some of them

Pareclls MAY not be on my top 10 , I never thought about ti.......

I've considered the source, and hence, have disregarded him and his message, that's another worthless input I've storedaway in my useless information file

My picks:

1) B. Belichick
2) B. Cowher / M. Shanahan / M. Holmgren (pick your own order here; I have them as equals)

5) J. Fox
6) J. Fisher
7) B. Parcells
8) J. Gibbs
9) T. Dungy / J. Gruden / A. Reid

If Parcells or Gibbs gets their team into the NFC Title game then they move up this list to #5; if they win it they go to #2. If either of them wins a Superbowl to go along with their past glories that guy will be a solid #1.

It gets a little crowded around #10 and there are a few more who could arguably have that spot M. Lewis, L. Smith and J. Mora Jr. are among them. But so far they haven’t broken into the top 10 IMO.

If Nolan does something in the next year or two (as I expect him to) then he will make the list but for now he has no track record to point to.
