I'll probably do this every other week or so, but here's how I see the top ten currently unfolding:

1. Carolina - Da'Quan Bowers. Hard to get a read on them as they could go any number of different directions. I don't think they feel confident in taking any QB this high and will hope that Clausen can have a better sophomore campaign. The Cam Newton machine is still very much a factor here.

2. Denver - Patrick Peterson. Denver needs help everywhere on defense and will likely take whomever is rated highest on their board. Fairley or Dareus could happen due to moving back to a 4-3, but their is arguably a huge gap between PP and any other corner in this draft. 2nd round will still have many good d-lineman for them to draft.

3. Buffalo - Marcell Dareus. I've mocked Newton here previously and think that the Bills like him, but would rather select him in the middle of the round value-wise. Since no one will want to move up, they select Dareus to get their money's worth. He's scheme-diverse and Buffalo plays a bit of everything.

4. Cincinnati - Cam Newton. Carson Palmer has single-handedly wrecked their draft plans as AJ Green or Julio Jones made 100% sense here. With no one else on their roster with any starting potential and a top five pick, it's time to start over and hope Newton can deliver on his potential.

5. Arizona - Von Miller. The Cardinals love affair with Miller is legit from what I'm hearing from my friends down south. He's a perfect fit with the Cardinals scheme-wise and value. This is the slam dunk pick of the draft IMO.

6. Cleveland - AJ Green. I would have had Fairley going here had it not been for the Bengals implosion, but I think they will look to grab a #1 wideout and hope for some second tier defensive lineman to be available in the second round.

7. San Francisco - Prince Amukamara. I'm not buying the QB argument as SF and Harbaugh are staying in the Andrew Luck sweepstakes. If it comes down to this or a pass rusher, I think they'll go corner so Nate Clements can move to a nickel role.

8. Tennesee - Nick Fairley. Teams are starting to be slightly concerned about Fairley's maturity. That being said, he's great value at this position and with all of the QB's having major issues, the Titans decide on getting immediate help on the d-line vs. a project.

9. Dallas - JJ Watt. I'm starting to like this guy more and more. With no corners worthy of this pick and a few flirtations with Robert Quinn, we ultimately go with a five-technique that will give 100% each and every play. Tyron Smith will merit some consideration, but with Watt ranked higher on the board, our streak of not drafting OL in the first round continues.

10 Washington - Julio Jones. The Alabama protege as solidified himself as a top 15 pick. Snyder and Shanny decided not to enter the QB roulette game and instead grab a potential #1 wideout. Suffiice to say that Jones could bug us for years and hopefully won't make Jenkins his chew toy.

I think they would have to trade down in that situation and I would target Mark Ingram.

Why? RB is an obsolete position for winning in the NFL. As a RB to play for Jason Garrett you pretty much have to be able to pass block and provide adequate running ability. We saw that with Marion Barber getting plenty of snaps despite clearly not having much left in the tank running-wise.

DE J.J. Watt, OL Gabe Carimi and TE Lance Kendricks were among the most impressive players at their positions during the 2011 NFL Draft Combine in Indianapolis.

I really think the Patriots are going to move up in this draft and dangle #17, #28 and maybe a third rounder to crash the top ten. I didn't forecast any trades, but that's one I would definitely consider.

I don't have anything against Ingram, but I think Felix/Choice can handle the load provided we actually block for them.

Let's see. What do these players have in common?

Brandon Jackson
Pierre Thomas
Willie Parker
Brandon Jacobs
Dominic Rhodes
Kevin Faulk

If you answered that they all were the starting RB's on Superbowl winning teams you are correct. Let's just face it folks, you don't need an elite or great running back anymore to win a Superbowl.

Love it but get ready for the fall out.

Well, don't you know, Mark Ingram is the next Emmitt Smith.

It's pretty much a given fact.

Bypassing Ingram would be like taking Richmond Webb over Emmitt Smith.

Or at least, that's what I've been told, lol.

I would do that.

Where is Blaine Gabbert? Poor Draft.. There is no way we draft a stiff like JJ Watt. Did you hear what Sapp said about players in the Big Ten, its like watching paint dry. I will give up my Cowboys card of over 25 years if they draft this bust waiting to happen.

Little early to know how they'd have the guys ranked. I like Watt as a player, but my opinion is Tyron Smith will probably be rated ahead of Watt on most teams' boards, and also IMO is likely to be the top rated OT.

Wont have a problem if we ultimately draft Watt, though I wouldnt do it at 9 if it were me.

yea definatly take Tyron if he is there unless Marcell or Peterson is there.

I'd strongly consider Smith over either of them.

I think he'll be a better OT than either of those guys will be at CB or DE/DT, and the OL is the worst unit on the team IMO. Pairing Smith with Free gives us bookend offensive tackles for years to come and I'm guessing Smith would be a massive improvement over Colombo from day one. Colombo was the worst player on the team last yr IMO. And thats saying something when you have Alan Ball out there.

I;m leaning more and more this way, although I'm not sure I could bring myself to draft him over Peterson. I agree though that O-line is much more of a need than corner, but Peterson is one of those high end guys that only come around so often. Anybody but peterson tho i say its Smith or trade back.

.........that would get me ALL giddy if we could pull that off. Then again, do we really think JJ and his "scouts" could pick well at 17,28 and an extra third? Never know.....;)
