Toronto Blue Jays Acquire Josh Johnson, Buehrle, & Reyes From Marlins

Rumored blockbuster trade has Blue Jays getting Josh Johnson, Buerhle, Jose Reyes and a couple other players from the Marlins.

So far just tweets from Ken Rosenthal and Buster Olney, but not much else out there yet.

In other unrelated news.. Marlins team owner Jeffrey Loria has entered the Witness Protection Program and his whereabouts are unknown.

Loria was forced to go out and field a good/popular team in order to get their new stadium. Selig kind of forced his hand to do so and now Loria is unloading all that money.

This is a crooked situation there and something needs to be done to the Marlins. Selig made the Dodgers owner sell, my Mets Wilpon's are in worse shape and nothing happens to them.

Basically, the Marlin fans got screwed over big time

Where does the idea that the Marlins went out and signed a bunch of high dollar guys "in order to get a new stadium" come from?

The signing of all these guys came after the stadium issues were settled and the construction was almost complete. These players had absolutely nothing to do with "GETTING" the new taxpayer sponsored stadium.

There were "questionable" things pertaining to how the whole stadium thing went down. But, that all had to do with getting it done/approved and the funding. There was even talk of an investigation into the process and the politicians and the Marlins as to how it happened, but this has nothing to do with the players they signed as free agents.

The Marlins signed guys to a lotta $$$ in hopes it would make a big splash with the opening of the new stadium. It backfired.

So, why continue to pay out all those $$$ for a 69 win team? They can do that with far less $$$ going out. Get young guys and prospects and try to improve that way.

I think the owner is pond scum and bad for baseball. I'm not defending him in any way, but lets at least get the facts sorta right.

In actuality, this scenario is good for America. Other cities wont be as inclined to give into sports owners and their hostage like demands and throw away millions of $$$ that the team should put up. If the team wnats to keep all the profits - then - pay the expenses in the process. If the team is willing to split the profits with the cities that fund stadiums then that is another thing.

Im an Orioles fan. Peter Angelos has been a horrible owner. Ruined a once proud franchise. Making millions off of the MASN TV network, and has the Nats locked into the network as well, so making a lot of dollars off of them as well.

14 years of mediocrity and worse. This past season was fun and maybe things are going in the right direction.

Bad owners are horrible for the fans. We should be able to crucify them for some of the stuff they do.

Everything I know is bad ownership. Jerruh for football. The Dollfins owner. Marlins owner. Orioles owner. I feel cursed at times with my teams and my local teams.

Yep, the years just keep on going by and here we sit as Cowboys fans hoping for a fluke, some good fortune, etc. to give us a meaningful season.

I went to Game 5 to see the Heat win it all last year. I figured its only an hour drive so I may as well go and enjoy the thrill of a big time game/moment. It was fun to be there and experience it, but there was an emptiness. Something was missing. It was just another game. Im not even really a casual basketball fan so I had nothing invested. It was nothing like pulling for one of your teams that gets that far.

I'd love to see the Blue Jays make a run. Even though as a Phillies fan I still have nightmares of Joe Carter.
