Everybody has been talking about bringing in Larry F or Berrian or Ocho Cinco but what about Torry Holt? I think we might be able to get him for a very reasonable price if he wants to leave St. Louis after last year and all that or just play for a contender again. He brings everything to the table, is durable and would be an excellent compliment to Owens

Just an idea

Except that you'd then be, next year, looking for another guy cause you brought in a 32+ year old compliment.

The idea isn't just to get someone over there, it's to get someone who might be around for more than 1 or 2 years.

Braveheart, I'll keep this brief since recruiting probably shouldn't be discussed here, but Landry Jones and Jermie Calhoun are gonna be real good for the Sooners over time.

Not a good one.

The whole point is to get younger at receiver so we're not worried about finding one every single offseason. Conveniently, we have a luxury of being able to fix the issues at this position and CB this offseason because a great majority of our other positions have set, healthy, young players.

This may not be the case next year or the year after. We have to fix our holes for the long run as they come and not just patch them up.

That's exactly what my first thought was when I read the opening post.

It would depend on how long of a contract we would need to write. For my money, Holt is better then almost any other WR out there. He's better then any of the names we've thrown out IMO. At least, right now. I agree that long term, some of the other guys are probably more attaractive. However, if the plan were to draft a young guy and sing a guy like Holt to a short term deal, then I think this would work well. We are good enough to win a championship with a little improvement here and there. With both Holt and TO, I don't see anybody able to match up. JMO.

Maybe as a stop-gap if he were to be come an FA he'd be a good fit...but he doesn't have a future in Dallas...maybe a very limited one at all because of his age.

I saw him on an NFLN interview and he said that he intended on finishing out the two remaining years on his contract and then give retirement some serious thought.

Could buy a year until Fitzgerald is a free agent.

Torry Holt will be going into his 10th season, next year. It's interesting because Hold has never failed to register a 1000 yard season up until last year. Last year he only had 788 yards. Now, I believe that this was more about the offense and what it could not do as opposed to Holt but who really knows? The question becomes, how long would it take if we were to sign him?

Holt is not going anywheres. He will finish his career in St. Louis with the Rams

For the right price, anyone can be the right reciever. It doesn't have to be a young guy, per se.

While that is true for some teams, the price for the Cowboys is to high IMO.

I don't want another 30+ receiver to be honest, I believe Dallas can go after Roy Williams...
I totally agree with you. People get mix up between real world and fantasy football worlds. Tory Holt is a bit old. Dallas needs to look for a WR who will here for the next 3 or 4 years.
