Even though his injury was the catalyst for outlawing the "horsecollar" tackle, TO didn't hesitate to use it when needed after the Crayton fumble!

He even swung his lower body into the legs of the ball carrier, "Roy Williams-style." :p:

I remember making a mental note about it. Not a good way to tackle. Too dangerous.

I was surprised the refs didn't flag it.

maybe TO gets a "freebie" ... since he was the reason the rule was made:D

he appears to be grabbing the jersey, NOT the collar or pads. what does the rule state?

Yeah. I don't see how it's a horse collar.

Yeah, I don't know if it was a technical horsecollar since maybe he didn't have the pads, and it looks like one of his hands is in the front.

But it sure looked like one at the time, and the net effect of the tackle was the same as a horsecollar, which just underscores how arbitrary that dumb rule is!

The last I knew, the "horse collar" is getting under the pads. If that's the case he was fine.

It wasn't a horse collar, according to the rule. You must "immediately pull down the runner" after grabbing inside the collar (jersey or pads, it doesn't matter), and Owens ran with Leber for 6 yards before trying to pull him down.

But that probably won't stop him from being fined.

Barber's mean-spirited stiff-arms will be next.

I think you're right.... Wait till some of the sissy's start complaining about him.....

Ed Hoculi (sp) will say..... Personal foul, offense, #24, Mean-Spirited stiff arm, 15 yard penalty ....repeat 3rd down....

One hundred percent of T.O.'s tackles are dirty. He's obviously trying to break people's legs.
