Rae Carruth, a former NFL wide receiver for the Carolina Panthers, wanted his son dead in 1999. At the time, Carruth’s girlfriend, Cherica Adams, was 7 months pregnant with their child. However, Carruth did everything in his power to keep their soon-to-be son from being born. Carruth and Adams met at a pool party in Charlotte, and hit it off immediately. They dated on and off in the late ‘90s, but trouble began once Adams got pregnant. Rae already had one child with another woman while he was in college at the University of Colorado, and begged Adams to get an abortion to avoid the financial responsibility of another kid. Adams refused though, and she never would've expected the events that would soon follow.
