Tough crowd

3rd round pick was outstanding
I humbly disagree. How often do knee injuries get permanently fixed and never lead to other issues or reinjury? Too often. Don't get me wrong, the guy was probably first round talent before the injury, but now? It's a risk.

How have the results turned out, Coach?
Not good....but, that's far from the reason. Deflecting blame from what has been the real issue hasn't turned out well, either. This particular issue....I'm good with it. A better receiver corp, QB, RB would have been great, but This particular pick....is a very good pick. No other pick at that spot would have been team changing.

With Day 2 more than likely over for the Cowboys.. I figured I’d apprehensively check in to see what others were saying.

Par for the course, majority of what I’m reading is negative reviews, although most pundits and other fans are saying we’re having a pretty good draft. It’s exhausting and prob why I generally stay away from this site.

Depending on what mock “expert” your reviewing.. Dallas genuinely has drafted ‘1st Round’ talent with each of their picks. That’s pretty impressive and should be commended, As Dallas has drafted 3 starters so far. Any other team would be elated. (Not Cowboys fans)

There’s plenty of time to grab a RB. And yes, late RD RBs can make huge impacts. WR.. well, we prob will draft one late, yet might not make much of an impact. But I suspect, Dal will more than likely trade for a veteran to pair with Lamb. Personally, I didn’t think this draft was WR strong in the first place. So it make sense to me.

That said..Our draft picks will all contribute this year, which is important for this team.

Booker- will immediately fill the massive hole that Zack Martin left. How well, who knows, but he’s definitely ready for the challenge. Solidifying the OL make the entire Offense better. (Even late RD RBs look great behind solid OLs.. just mentioning)

Ezeiruaku- might be the most polished or NFL ready player in the draft and many (including Dane Brugler) considered him a 1st RD’er. Admittedly, I’m a Defense guy, so I Absolutely love this pick. We need someone else other teams have to account for other than Parsons. And again, this pick will make the entire Defense better. Not sure if he’ll be a day 1 starter.. but he’ll end up there by mid season.

Revel Jr- I honestly didn’t know much about him, although I’ve read he would have prob been the 2nd CB off the board had it not been for his injury. Also read he shoud be ready by camp.. wow. With the uncertainty of Diggs, the value, and importance of good CBs in this league.. I’d say this will prob go down at the steal of the draft. Outside his injury, I literally haven’t read one negative thing about this kid.

Say what you will about Dallas and the FO

But this has been a very good draft so far.

Stay positive my friends
Mid season if everyone is healthy (BIG IF), you could have Ez, Fowler and Parsons rushing together with Bland, Diggs and Revel locking it down.

Idk what teams would do on 3rd and 7 or longer.

Makes run defense in early down that much more important.

It is likely that most people are looking at the draft and can't see anything that the Cowboys did having closed the gap between them and the Eagles or Commanders. Nothing they did is going to make this team a contender or even make them a playoff caliber team.

I would like to draft Blue or Sampson at RB to add some speed to the offense. But long time til we pick again because of Mingo

Just based on draft rankings the team did great. But it’s understandable to have frustrated fans when we’re going into the season with Lamb as the only real offensive threat. This offense will have no teeth this season and Dak will struggle mightily.

Revel ... very fast and efficient cornerback operated upon by the Cowboys' physician, himself.

I don't cry on another fan's dime. Both the staff and Jerry fully understand football and their own team.

They got 3 good players that can definitively play in the NFL. You could argue a G at 12 was a reach. It was. Booker is still a good player and will be a 10 year starter. You could argue G wasn’t an absolute need. You would be right. The issue is this fan base has had it. For good reason. No trust in the Joneses. #Shotty was a terrible choice for HC. The Dak contract…It goes on and on.

The main issue for me is that they don’t have enough premium picks to fill the needs. 149 is the next and they need RB, WR2 and DT. It’s a problem. That said these are 3 good picks.

Correct they're all first round types but they're called value picks because where you get them from and when a person hears value they hear budget then they hear free agency and they have PTSD with the Cowboys FO

That's not really the case with the draft they're really getting guys who were rated higher so when they get a value pick it's because they're getting a really good player who should have went higher that's a positive not a negative..

Which by the way seems to be the theme if you look at free agencies so far they got a lot of X 1st round picks as well I know they're not all going to be starters but I think they're just trying to assemble lots of guys with potential and talent and maybe they can put it all together and it works.

my NFL Comps

Booker- Jason Peters
.
Ezeiruaku- Robert Quinn

Revel- Richard sherman

That doesn't mean they're gonna meet this potential but that's some nice comps right there and it's actually very close to what I see these players are and can be...

Wake up!! Every team at this point feels like they got the steal of the draft. Every team feels like they are closer to winning a championship. Every team thinks they are smarter than the competition.

Then TC and PS games happen and reality hits. Some of us see it coming already and the rest like you will come up with excuses, reasons and arguments why it all went to Hades. One word… Jerry.

How have the results turned out, Coach?
The results have been poor because Jerry has refused to use all available resources to put the most competitive team on the field. When we basically only use the draft for roster building while others use every tool available, it shouldn’t be surprising that our playoff competitiveness is compromised. The draft is not our problem. If we would have drafted a WR, RB, and DT with the first 3 picks, it wouldn’t have changed anything.

Look, you just have to understand that people get upset when they see a guy we need get drafted. Happens every year.

Sure we added some good talent. The argument is the positions addressed. When you look at the teams weaknesses last year..... lack of wr separation...... porous run defense among the worst in the NFL......losing a 1k yard rb in free agency ....... We haven't addressed any of our biggest problems.

I like Booker but there were other positions we could have upgraded that were of far greater need. Same thing with DE pick in round 2. This kid is a pass rusher. We got those. We need run stuffers. We lost DLAW who was our best run defender. Maybe Kneeland can step into that role but it's certainly a big question mark how this team is going to stop anyone from running the ball, and its an even bigger question whose going to give Dak a target when teams double Lamb.

It just depends on what your goals are.

If you want this franchise to continue its course if being one of the worst in the NFL then this draft will look good to you.

But if you have goals like being a contender you have to demand more. And of course for some, who love and dont know nothing else than mediocrity, demand will feel like being inside a tough crowd.

My goal is to be a contender. And picking guards with premium picks is not the way to do it. Regardless of how good the player is or will be. RG is the least imporposition on the OL. That is just brainless waste of resources showing just how incompentent the decission makers are.

Again: if your goals are to be a bad team the pick looks good. Celebrate then.

Meh, the truth is we really don't know. It seems like they got some pretty good value on the picks in round 2/3 but one guy has a knee. That could be a problem or it couldn't. Seems like a good kid and he is a beast when healthy so I see why they did it. I don't think anyone can poo poo all over their draft though. They pick the right OL more than they don't and the DE they drafted was one of the best in all of CFB. So it does look promising so far IMO.

I'm alittle bit behind. Did we just draft ANOTHER injury concern?:facepalm:
