i work in the city centre for the national health service. basically my job entails trying to get nurses to cover shifts in the hospitals. today is the orange walk so all sorts of roads throughout the city (centre and outskirts) are shut off so these people can march through the city. apart from the fact that town is a complete nightmare all day and then tonight will be full of the dregs from the "festivities" when i'm going for a few drinks to celebrate my buddy having a baby girl it has made my working day a nightmare. the number of shifts in the emergency departments needing filled is way up due to the orange walk and also we're getting loads of nurses phoning in sick because they want nothing to do with the drunken idiots that will be in looking for treatment while shouting anti catholic abuse. it amazes me that this kind of thing is still permitted in this day and age. :bang2: rant over!
ps the same goes for the hibernian marches that the irish republicans have in glasgow albeit they are on a far smaller scale
