Why does the sport get so little respect on these forums? We see basketball, baseball, rasslin', hockey, but never track & field threads. Most NFL WR/DB/RB's have a history as a track & field athlete. Hell, Ezekial Elliot a Missouri State hurdles champ, we obviously know about Bullet Bob Hayes, but did ya know fellow HOFer Mel Renfro was a stud hurdler/long jumper and ran a leg on a world record 4x1 team while at Oregon? Remember DB Terrence Newman, a 10.20 Big12 100 champ at Kansas Sate. Would ya believe our Cowboys once drafted Carl Lewis and John Smith the 440m world record holder?

Todd Gurley was a stud hurdler in high school, RGIII a 400hurdler stud while at Baylor, hell...Terry Bradshaw broke records in the javelin throw. Rams WR Robert Woods number one 400m HSer in the nation. Lynn Swann a Cali long jump champ (same HS s Brady)

There has been 20ish NFLers compete in the Olympic games. If asked I will list them.

Remember "The Nigerian Nightmare" Christian Okoye, stud discus thrower.

Track and football go hand and glove yet nobody talks track, why?

When ya watch Niner RB Raheem Mostert play, he was a former Big10 100/200 champ while at Purdue, a school not known for sprinting. Colts RB Jonathon Taylor a state 100mchamp in HS.

Check our Anthony Schwartz a Browns rookie WR, a 10.07 in HS.

The list of NFLers who were one time track stars is a mile long, dead serious.

John Riggins twice the Kansas State 100 yard champ, 9.8PR...guessing he was lighter then.

The Jets Javelin Guidy won the Texas 100m in HS, the family moves to Caii and he wins the Cali 100 title. Kid has some jets,,,,get it?

When our Cowboys drafted Bob Hayes, the Giants drafted Henry Carr the Olympic 200m gold nedalist to cover him, yep....dead serious.

He also anchored a world record 4x4 gold medal winning team.

Annimari Korte didn't make the semis in the 100m hurdles.... but wow.....the qualifying was worth watching tonight.

Looking at the world list she is nowhere to be found, injury? Just coming back?

Do expect Harrison to win the gold.

Both the mens/womens 400 hurdles THE must see. With the temp what it is great shot at a WR in both.

Speaking of the hurdles

All Time NFL 110hh

lane

1.Willie Gault Bears, 13.2ish world ranked
2.James Owens 13,4ish Niners Olympic 6th
3.Renaldo Nehemiah 12.9WR Niners boycott sucked
4,Rod Woodson 13.2ish Steelers world ranked
5,Earl McCullouch 13,2ish Lions world ranked
6.Jerry Tarr 13,3 Broncos number one in the world
7.Richmond Flowers Cowboys 13.3

With Jamaican ladies taking all the medals at 100m a new 4x1 world record almost a sure bet.

Andre DeGrasse the man to beat at 100m, he gets how to deal with the rounds.

400m man Randolph Ross failed to advance in that Olympic 400m that is a shocker, he has the fastest time in the world.

After she wins the 400hurdles and probably breaks her own world record, it will be....who is that cutie?

Sydney McClaughlin

Are you kidding me, American Trayvon Bromell fails to move on in the 100m, he was the favorite,

Biggest disappointment so far.

Local girl Elle Purrier has this area all a twitter.

I don't follow this much but apparently she is a legit contender in some medium and long distance events.

The Olympic 100m for the men

Won't believe the finish....

So what did we see in that 100m?

Lamont Marcell Jordan is new to the world sage, try 2020-2021 a Texas born Italian, mom Italian, father African American. Nobody had him winning this, a total shock;

Fred Kerley a cat who was running the 400m last season, why he decided to move down to the 100, a ???? But,he knew what he was doing, obviously.

Andre DeGrasse became the favorite once Trayvon Bromell failed to move on,

Christian Coleman would have won this if allowed to compete, he didnit fail a test he didn't take tests he was suppose to take so....ban.

Ronnie Baker could have medalled he is on par with everyone there, but,....he didn't.

Doping ruined track and field. Its not fun watching an event where you re never quite sure if the winner cheated.

For years high schools from Jamaica ruled the Penn Relays especially the 4x4 relay. In 2007 Long Beach Poly had a great team. so they head East to battle the Jamaicans. Bryson Nellum the top 400m HS sprinter in the nation their anchor man. Saint Jago will have Yohan Blake the worlds top HS 100/200 cat on anchor.

What is left...

The mens 400 hurdles THE event of these games, a new world record a very real possibilty.

Grant Holloway in the 110hh, will we see histories first sub 12.80?

Noah Lyles should win the 200m.

Michael Norman should win the 400m

The womems 400hh THE event for the laidies, will Sydney McClauglin win the gold in world record time?

Then those relays!

Life is good!
