Yes, I know it's antiquated, but people still generally use it or something close to it. So..........

Dallas Gave Up:

2007
1st (22)........780.0 pts
3rd (87)........155.0 pts
5th (159)........27.8 pts

Total Given Up: 962.8 pts

Dallas Received:

2007
1st (26th)......700.0 pts
2008
Browns 1st......550.0 pts

Total Received: 1250.0

Net Gain: 287.2 pts

Value: 30th pick in the 2nd Round (62 overall)

That's a 2nd round pick out of thin air.

Way to go Jerry.

Browns 1st......550.0 pts <------ & that's worse case scenario, I think for practical purposes we did even better

Not to mention Cleveland is a bad team. Thomas and Quinn are not going to turn them into winners overnight.

Well, when you do the value you take the position they're in this year and lower it a round. So that's what the 3rd pick in the 2nd round is worth.

In my opinion that's too much of a discount, so we really got more out of the trade.

Either way, it's an amazing set of deals.

If Spencer helps provide some much needed pass rush help then the points would mean diddly. Obviously he was one of the main guys they were targeting and they had to get in front of NE to get him.

That said any trade that involves the Feagles leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

He was the most productive defensive end in college football.

It's a shame that people have never heard of him.

I think you can also go ahead and set those 1st round picks equal, since Jerry said he was picking Spencer either way.

Good point on them being equal.

Great point. That'd bump it up to about the 22nd pick in the 2nd round.

For free.

are you kidding me? Cleveland stinks that will be a top 5 pick and worth a lot more than that. It was a great deal!!!!! I wish they would do that every year.

Also, one of the Joneses said that they talked to several OTs, including Joe Thomas, and they all said that Spencer was the best DE they played against.

Know the facts before you flame.

We had the 26th pick this year.

Now, we don't have a third....or a fifth....

got us there.
