Trade Back and Fix the Front 7 Mock

I'm beginning to think dealing down is the way to go.

I would target Moehrig in that case and finally get a capable centerfielder.

The deal down should net a rotational DT type, or a capable LB....in the form of an extra 2nd or 3rd.

Im not trading back to 19. Nahhhh

Just curious as to why not. Is there really that much difference between 10 and 19? Cowboys thought that Lamb was out of reach, but he wasn't. Draft is unpredictable, most people didn't see the Packers taking a quarterback in the first round, and by doing so that pushed someone else down the list, having more picks increases your chances of getting one of the top players.

If you think that after the top 12-15 the rest of the draft consists of only average or a bit above average players then you keep the 10 pick. Or if this is 1976 and you are a very good team that just needs the "cherry on top" player to get you to championship level, you keep it. But that's obviously not the case with the 2021 Cowboys.

But if you feel, as I do, that there are nearly always about 40-50 excellent prospects in the draft, this year being no exception, grabbing 3 in that range would make a world of difference to this team. Maybe not getting to championship level this year either, but it will mean a better chance at it....

Who are you looking at at 19 for Dallas? Seems there will be a bunch of receivers and unproven d ends there

Haven't studied it much, like I said there are always a number of very good players available through the first 40-50 picks, and it depends on who the teams ahead of 19 take so it's not a certainty who or what position player will be there.

It's that Dallas has so many needs - lots of free agents, guys like Lee that need to retire or be released and lack of quality players in certain areas (like DT) - that there will almost certainly a player at 19 that can help the team, and for this team this year quantity is nearly as important as quality...

Does that qualify as a front 7 draft? I feel like there should be more picks to get that distinction.

If you want a pass rusher, I think Rousseau is a better bet. Paye has never lit up his sack count.

The guy looks like a freak and maybe his abilities will meet his body someday, but very much a project.
