Trade back to 23-25 and pick up a 3rd

1. (24) DT Kawaan Short

2.(47) OG Larry Warford

3a. (80) S J J Wilcox

3b. (86) TE Travis Kelce

4, (114) RB Le'Veon Bell

5. (151) OT Chris Faulk

6. (185) DE Quanterus Smith

This Draft addressed the OL(2), DL(2), S, RB, TE. The extrta third round pick makes so much difference in getting that extra quality player. I always like to look, in the later rounds, at a injured or previously injured player so he is a great value pick at 1 to 3 rounds later than he normally would have been drafted. See 5th and 6th.

I agree that we need a very short tradeback somewhere to get an additional pick in the mid-rounds as I would really like to get a good RB, WR, and a blocking TE as well as add another OT for depth/competition purposes so we can cut Free.
I think its a foregone conclusion we will sign one of Moore, Clabo, or Winston so A) Free's a goner and B) it may not be as vital to get two starting OLs in this draft as we originally thought.
I would also love to see us steal Barrett Jones in the late rounds as he slips because of injury.
Regarding the above mock, I'm not a fan of anything in round 1 other than OL. I think Warford is too slow from what I read. I don't know much about Wilcox but I do know I like Phillips from Fresno and Swearinger from South Carolina. Don't know Kelce, okay with Bell and Faulk there. My mock is in my sig, its much more OL and offense-heavy. My mock has enough blockers that Romo should be able to hand it off 3x in a row for a first down and make tea whenever he has to throw.

This is a ridiculously poor drafting philosophy.

of course i meant specifically for our team in our situation this draft season (not ALWAYS every year) because it was our biggest problem for the last few years and we haven't done a good job of building one. We just spent a load on Romo and our OL is more important and has more pressing needs than any position we have currently.

Short has work ethic issues.

Warford is slow.

Kelce is a TE.

Faulk is probably a 3rd rounder.
