Bored and waiting for the game like everyone else so I mock...
We are sitting on the board at 28 and the board is pretty empty of the DE's we are all hoping slide. DeShone Kizer is still sitting on the board so the Bears call to trade up for him after going with defense at #3 in the 1st. We receive picks #36, #67, and #130 for pick #28.
2nd A- Hasson Reddick OLB/DE Temple- Explosive athlete who is capable of making plays all over the field. Great burst off of the edge with the ability to bend and turn the corner like a true RDE. Undersized to play DE full time, but also more than capable of playing off of the LOS and in coverage which he more than proved at the Sr Bowl. His ability to both cover in space and rush the passer makes him a very unique player. Wore #7 his Sr year because of Matt Rhule's tradition of giving the 9 toughest guys on the team single digit #'s. Hard worker who will make an impact wherever he is played on the field. (65 Tackles, 22 TFL, 9 sacks, 1 INT, 3 FF)

*My player comparison: Anthony Barr
2nd B- Chidobe Awuzie CB Colorado- Sticky cover CB is a good way to describe Awuzie. Has the feet, hips, and quickness to mirror WR's in coverage. Good instincts and breaks on the ball really well, would just like to have seen him catch a few more balls for INT's tho. Skinny and needs to add some weight and muscle but is a willing tackler, just needs some technique work in the open field. If he had the gaudy INT #'s of some of the CB's I think he'd be rated a lot higher. (11 PD's, 1 INT, 4 Sacks, 6TFL, 2 FF)

My player comparison: Darius Slay
3rd A- Isaiah Ford WR Va Tech- I'm a big fan of Ford, I see him as very an underrated guy that isn't getting enough talk yet. Great size/speed ratio that can be a real downfield threat in the NFL. Knows how to locate, adjust, and high point the ball in the air with his long arms. Va Tech's passing game was a little limited so you don't exactly see the entire route tree, but he does have the suddenness and agility that he should be able to become a good route runner. Another guy that needs some NFL weight room time as well. (79 REC, 1,094 7 TD's)

My player comparison: Marvin Jones
3rd B- Daeshon Hall DE Texas A&M- Hall is very interesting prospect. Has all the traits and looks the part of an NFL DE, but never quite put everything together in college. Long limbed athlete with a pretty good get off and a very good motor. Decent ability to bend and dip around the corner and also good at getting skinny and shooting gaps. Needs to learn some more pass rush moves and how to disengage better, you see him locked onto o lineman way too often. I think if he continues to get bigger and stronger he possess the ability to be a really stout LDE who brings good pass rush for the position. (13 TFL, 3 Sacks, 2 FF)

My player comparison: Michael Johnson
4th- Eddie Vanderdoes DT UCLA- Was on his way to being a much higher pick until he he tore his ACL in 2015 that cost him all but 1 game. Came back for his Sr year a little heavier than he was and didn't have the same kind of athleticism as before the injury...looked much better at the SR Bowl tho. Large guy who plays with a lot of power and explosion, able to consistently push o lineman back. If his medicals check out he could be a steal as a powerful 1 tech with some pass rush ability. (15 tackles, 1.5 sacks)

My player comparison: Bennie Logan
5th- Cole Hikutini TE Louisville- Small school transfer who put up big #'s his Sr year to put himself on the map. Big guy as 6'5 245 that moves well, very fluid athlete. Long arms and big hands that snatch the ball out of the air very naturally. Also has the ball skills of a WR, can be seen adjusting and high pointing jump balls. Needs to get a little stronger and become a better blocker, but a high ceiling as a pass catching TE. (50 REC, 668 yards, 8 TD's)

My player comparison: Dennis Pitta
6th- Justin Senior OT Miss St- Big strong athlete with 3 years starting experience at RT in the SEC. Long arms and strong hands to lock onto defenders. Good people mover, the type of guy to run behind. Will struggle with speed rushers if he doesn't adjust...looks a little stiff and doesn't quite have the foot quickness you'd like to see. Unless Free is outright cut I think it will be pretty hard for a rookie OT to make the team which is why I didn't address the position until the 6th. If the FO does intend to cut Free a higher investment would be needed.

7th- Dare Ogunbowale RB Wisconsin- Really like the way this kid runs. Former walk on as DB and only 10 starts at RB in college. Because of that he's a bit raw and may not have the best vision, but he runs hard and is really tough to bring down. Has the suddenness and agility to makes tacklers miss in open space and consistently runs with 100% effort making him difficult to stop with just 1 guy. Also has really good hands out of the backfield making him a perfect 3rd down back candidate. ( 506 rush yards, 5.6 YPC, 24 Rec, 208 yards, 6 TD's)
