49ers trade up from 32 to 28 to grab a QB. We receive 32 + a 4th and 5th for moving back 6 spots.
2nd- Tre White CB LSU
2nd- Tarell Basham DE Ohio
3rd- Eddie Jackson S Alabama
4th- George Kittle TE Iowa
4th- Jermaine Eluemunor OT/OG Texas A&M
5th- Nate Hairston CB Temple
6th- Tanner Vallejo LB Boise St
7th- Khalfani Muhammad RB/KR Cal
7th- Wes Lunt QB Illinois
White and Jackson are seasoned performers from major SEC programs ready to contribute early. Safe prospects with the upside of good NFL starters. White isn't the sexiest CB pick in terms of measurables, but he might have the best feet/hips in my opinion. Flat out sticky in coverage. Jackson is versatile in that you can trust him in a deep zone but he also can play in the box and tackle well.
Hairston is a CB with upside that has the necessary size and athleticism to become a good NFL CB in time if he develops well.
Overall these 3 would be a very good start to an overhauled secondary.
Basham is an athletic edge rusher that shows the upside and ability to become a pass rush threat quickly in the NFL. Will need some technique work, but a lot of raw tools to like for a DE available at 60. I like him more than the Harris/Takk/Lawson group being mocked to us in the 1st.
Kittle was underutilized at Iowa but has the size, athleticism, and willingness to block that makes envisioning him as a good NFL TE pretty easy. Better blocker than most of the TE's in the draft will make him very appealing to the Cowboys.
Eluemunor is inexperienced at the sport of football, but is huge and powerful with better than expected movement ability. I don't see anything that would make me move him from RT, but has definite OG possibility as well. Good developmental prospect in the late 4th.
Vallejo is a tough team 1st guy with the natural athleticism to play in space. Potential to be a versatile backup and good special teams player.
Muhammad has electric speed and start/stop ability. Serious return threat with ability to catch the ball out of the backfield too.
I kinda liked Lunt as a young QB. Has some arm talent...why not kinda chance in the 7th on a QB for the PS.
