If Decastro is gone It seems to make sense to go after Glenn since he is athletic enough to play guard or tackle giving us a starting guard and game day swing tackle... Plus an extra pick if we trade down a few spots...

Yeah, that's my preference. I have a feeling that the Cowboys will be in need of a RT in the not too distant future and having Glenn's versatility would be a big plus.

The guy's a dancing bear who will engulf defenders.

Why move down to take the second best, when the best is available? What would we gain? A third? WooHoo! Championship!

This is the equivalent of saying, "I want to take the second best player available."

I'm starting to think DeCastro will be there an we won't take him anyways. You can get by without worldbeaters at guard. I think we'll get a DE.

I agree with this. I think they are targeting a DL prospect in a trade down scenario.

If Cowboys trade down, then take Mercilus. With the extra first day pick, draft OL: Aminu Silatolu, Brandon Brooks, Zeitler or Konz.

and with the other 2nd round pick dallas gets Reyes or Crick.

trade back only if DeCastro isn't there and draft
Mercilus
Zietler/Brooks
Reyes/Crick

I like Reyes.

........not a draftnik: care to share indulge me? What's his story?

I don't have sources but Kendall Reyes is flying under the radar. As big as Cox (6'4 300) but not quite as fast a 40, but still sub 5.0. And he is much more powerful (36 reps) and more explosive (35" vert). He played inside and outside also. Opened a lot of eyes at SR Bowl practices when he was whipping all the top OL, including Zeitler.

He is more productive, bigger and more explosive than Clemson's Brandon Thompson, supposedly a guy the Cowboys are interested in. Like Brockers, he was a 245 lb athlete who grew into his present size without losing his athleticism. His phone booth quickness is impressive, beating out more popular but not nearly as big/powerful guys like Jared Crick and Billy Winn.

Another guy I like is Fresno State's Logan Harrell (6'2 280 4.8). I can't believe he is considered a 7th or UDFA. The guy is a 2 time all WAC who averaged almost double digit sacks his last 2 seasons. He is smallish, but is a beast. North Carolina State's Markus Kuhn (6'5 300 4.8) and Regina's Akiem Hicks have the measurables but Harrell has the production.

A DE in the 3-4 is hardly more than a block absorber. Those are a dime a dozen in later rounds. With the 14th pick you need a play maker, someone who can start from the start and make a difference.

Having said all that I still want DeCastro:D

I don't think the Cowboys are interested in Cordy Glenn. I don't think he is the type of OL they are looking for these days. He doesn't fit the mold.
