I hear rumors...but you guys think that is a good idea to trade Felix Jones? I never thought he was first round talent to begin with and he's been an underachiever mainly due to injury.

Why not trade him for a 3rd a 4th pick and get a bigger more durable back to relieve Demarco Murray?

An extra 3rd or 4th round pick we could get another DB to add as well. I think Dallas only has three on the roster as of now...

Just a thought.

I like Felix to stay, he is effective with a FB helping open holes for him...he's a good complement to Murray

Your right. The addition of Vickers might open up more holes for them. Felix has good burst and is good in small spaces. Just his durability is often questioned.

I'm fine with him being traded. We're a passing team and have a very good RB. Beyond him we can find someone to fill Felix's spot.

Sorry. I'm new to the site. Didn't know there was a similar thread..

No need to apologize. There a search feature if you want to look for any specific topics like this.

Do a google search for DeMarco Murray and his college years and check on his durability.....and then see this past year. Demarco was often injured in college...and he was down for a good part of his rookie season.

Trading Felix for the reason of durability with DeMarco's past is :laugh2:

My point exactly. Why have two injury prone backs when you can trade one for some mid round value. I don't need to do a google search... Demarco had almost 1000 yards in 8 games and he needs some relief and contributed much more than Felix...

The odds on drafting a better back than Felix with a 3rd or 4th rd pick is not very likely. He's still a good back who will only be 25 at the start of this upcoming season. He really stepped up after Murray went down having back to back 100 yard games against the Giants and TB. He averaged 4.5 per carry last season and had 33 receptions.

You need 2 good backs and RB is one of the Cowboys strengths so I would hang onto Felix in the event we lose Murray again. I like the idea of having a good one two punch at RB. Now let's say the Cowboys draft a back later in the draft and they start impressing in camp and preseason then I would probably entertain offers for Felix but it would have to be at least a 3rd rd pick for me to part with him.

I think Felix value to the team is more than a 3rd or 4th. Not saying what some one would be willing to give but his value to the team itself.

I'm not opposed to trades but only if Dallas gets what they feel the value of that player is to them.

Yep, we can use Felix in many ways, least of all as a slot receiver if one of our Wr's misses some time. Keep him, showcase him as much as possible, then offer him up.

Trade him and Spencer to Arizona for Calais Campbell who like Spencer has not signed his Franchise tender.

Just a thought.

You could make the same durability argument with Felix...

Yeah I know what you mean.

Phillip Tanner showed some promise as well with a great pre-season and tough running. Unfortanately he got hurt as well.

Your right. I don't see why they both can't be on the field at the same time in certain packages.

I was always saying that they should use Felix like the Saints did with Reggie Bush.

It would cause alot of mismatches and defenses would have to accomadate for both of them on the field.

This is where I'm at, too.
