Simmons next to Clark would be a nice tandem, on paper. It wouldn't help us this year much. But next year? It should, if we can properly surround both guys with good players. Everyone on defense is expendable. Nobody is off limits. Earlier I said 8 guys need gone on d, but I'm not adverse to all of them being gone. Low IQ players with low effort, terrible technique and a penchant for avoiding contact makes it easy to cut bait.

Jeffery Simmons is 28 and wants an extension allegedly. Id see if Quennin Williams is available, hes only 27 and hasn't dealt with too many injuries that I can remeber. Plus I believe he got an extension not long ago. Rumor is he wants out and can be had for a 2nd. If the 2nd rounder is true, then I don't see whats taking dallas so long. We always blow our 2nds anyway.

These two are the best 3T's in the league and would be huge upgrades over Osa. Problem is, you a putting so much into that position and are stuck with Osa's contract.

If you have to rebuild your defense, why not switch to more of a 3-4 scheme with bigger personnel. These are the teams are best against the run around the league.

The fact that Osa is making only $3.5-4M less a year than 2 guys about his age and have AT LEAST been 2nd Team All-Pros is such an indictment of Jerry's GM abilities. Hell, even Clark has made 3 Pro Bowls. If the Jets or Titans would Osa and Dallas' 1st, I would sign off on that deal before the other team finishes their "pitch". Sadly, we know Jerry thinks he's such a talent evaluator, he's gonna keep trying to sell Osa is on their level and we don't need players of Williams/Simmons caliber.
