The guy is big but he doesn't even start for the Lions.

Why should we trade a young CB who has made the Pro Bowl for a non-starting NT from a bad defense? The trade seems kind of lopsided aside from the fact that Jenkins is injured.

If we were truly ready to compete for a SB (and we might be if the OL gels) then the best thing to do is just keep Jenkins, cover the hell our of the WRs and put up an elite defensive season.

If you look at the last two SB winners both had good passing attacks and good defenses. I think we are trying to put together such a roster. We're following more of the Packers mold right now in that we're doing it from a 3-4 and focusing more on the secondary.

Keep Mike Jenkins and sign Aubrayo Franklin.

Use Franklin on 1st and 2nd down at the nose position, and Ratliff at DE on some 1st and 2nd down.

When we go to the nickel, kick ratliff back in at tackle with Crawford, Lissemore, Brent type rotation.

We improve our pass rush, and get even more stout against the run.

What part of Hill's 80 tackles and 4 sacks in 45 games played impresses you??

Hill has averaged just under 1.5 sacks for every 16 games played, he really doesn't offer much as a pass rusher...

Trade Mike Jenkins! No! We will have 4 quality CB's back there in our secondary. Jenkins is not a burden on the salary cap and has played well in the past. Now, if the team decides to let him go at the end of the season, so be it. Jenkins trade value is low at this point. He is going to be playing for his next contract. If he has a good season and becomes too expensive to keep, then let him walk. We should be asking Adam, what we would get for him as a compensatory pick as oppose to a draft pick.

Lions and others will be interested in Jenkins. I am leaning toward keeping him for sure. He will HAVE to perform to prove his worth next season. IF he does, we win and could still franchise him for another year.(yeah, I know it's doubtful) Bottom line: he won't bring enough in a trade right now due to his shoulder. This thread and others like it are nonsense.

u guys think Mike jenkins is gonna be happy being the 3rd or 4th corner in a contract year where he think he can get a contract like Carr if he has a good year. I would demand a trade too. This is a business and he value goes down being a non-starter He has to think about his future and family not yours. Get value for him with a guy that can start and be productive at the nose. i would ask for a late round pick to add to the trade and also who out of those two Scan or jenk gonna play special teams. Scan maybe Jenkins no way

This is the one reason I think we should keep him.

I actually like Sammie Lee Hill, but Jenkins is much more valuable. Hill has more upside than Price IMO, but not a good trade.
