Not that I believe this could happen but

Is it possible to trade romo to a team with no cap repercussions?

No. No. No. The signing bonus...which is typically spread over most/all of the contract...comes fully and immediately due. Tony is positively untrade-able even if a team wanted to give us 3 first rounders.

Because trading him would completely break our cap.

Romo has $25 million in signing bonuses.

There is a scene in Forrest Gump where Bubba is dying and he looks up at Forrest and says...
<Bubba voice> I want to go home.

For some reason that is how I feel when I read some of these threads.

<Bubba voice > I want to go home.

That's all I have to say about that.

It's a shame ole bubba passed he would have made a heck of a defensive lineman and I'm sure he would have loved playing for his dear friend coach Forrest Gump Garrett and lt. Dan jones

Another extension that likes Wiley Coyote genius.

LT Dan.... Ice cream

No but we might be able to get a cap backwards hit from him.

Here are the number. If Dallas were to cut, waive or trade Romo they would have $

...and every dollar of that bonus would be accelerated into next season cap. It amounts to about $21 million.

Anyone know if it's possible to trade a team's NFL fan base without cap repercussions? Heck, screw the cap hit, I'll still make the trade as long as we can get rid of half of our fan base, regardless of the cap hit.

Lets trade them when we play in London and leave them there. Lol

Seriously though, these trade scenarios are terrible.... Smh... There's no getting rid of Romo after that contract, not for a while anyway.

Just stop. He's staying. But that doesnt mean we cant draft a qb round 1 and start slowly reloading. And If we're lucky, Tony will retire as our backup qb.

So your wanting to win 4 games a year for years until we get another decent qb!??!?
