Trade Winds

I hope its not for draft picks and 1 player is not sending us to teh SB, we said goodbye to that when we took Lee and left safeties and better Oline men on the board.

We have to deal with what we gambled on and the gamble wont pay off.

Why do we have to deal with what we gambled on?

You dont want it to be for draft picks yet you mention how we blew the draft with Lee ect. Doesnt really make much sense does it?

You got to understand that this team is built to win. We're perfect at all the skill positions. Unfortunately, the skill positions aren't the only positions of importance. This team is a few solid Olinemen and a playmaking safety away from doing what we need to do, drafting unproven players who may take years to develop means some of our current roster will be exiting the door.

Im saying we take the dignified route and let the chips fall where they may. The bigger the crater the better off we'll be in the offseason because that should get some changes.

Sorry, 1 or 2 players for draft picks wont help us down the road, the draft picks and new coaches will.

Id rather have an overhaul over the offseason and leave the new coach with all the draft picks because we are not winning the SB. So why play the season for it. Other teams crap out we have to do it as well.

Keep your draft picks, blow up the season because even a turn around is not bringing home the Lombardi and be done with it.

Do you really see one player who will be brought to this team and asipire higher than the lack of coaching here? Will he really turn the locker room around and inspire a healthy dose of attitude for us to overcome bad coaching? Who do you think can do that?

and this is bad why? Should we hang on to Holley? Hurd, Brookings, ALan Ball, no FG kicker, no FS to get our defense over the hump?

Why not start bringing in new talent, so we can hug the old talent that hasnt produced?

Whos waiting for Spencer to become a sack machine? Want to hold on to Hodge in hopes he develops? Jason Williams? Other guys on the team not doing anything but taking a check?

Jerry isn't going to spend big money on a 1-3 team.

I disagree. Jerry tends to "reach" when he feels he has a good team that may be struggling...

What makes you think that giving up a draft pick for a young proven player at his position means we won't hang on to him? I fail to see your logic. The only difference will be a few years in age and whichever player we wind up getting will be proven.

Why not?

Those seats gotta stay warm somehow.

If he doesn't at least give the illusion of hope, people will likely think twice before blowing a ton of money at Cowboys Stadium.

anybody thinking maybe barber might be traded? its an uncapped yr so redoing his deal should be easier this yr.

I just dont see any team needing Barber. Can we talk Parcells into it?

It's possible. If we take that angle, what teams can we look at who are in need of a RB also have someone we'd want (OL/S) ?

Likely not going to trade with ourselves.

Talking about trading rarely excludes 3rd parties. If ever.

3rd parties could mean a free agent, doesn't necessarily mean a trade.

But I'm hoping that is the case, and makes the most sense.

It sure sounds like that. Must be for draft picks.
It has to be on the offensive line.
Or a kicker to handle just FG duties.
But my money would be on offensive line.
Hopefully who ever it is they are a tough SOB with the kind of nasty we need up front.

Oh, please, no. That would be comical and tragical if it were a kicker.

Yeah, we trade away Tashard Choice and a first rounder for a kicker. Great.

barber is so below average at this point you can't trade him.

no one but us would be stupid enough to start this guy.

He could probably find work if released ala Julius Jones, but he isn't going to be anyone's answer.

Our season is over. We're not going to dig ourselves out of this hole.

No way does he spend big money like that.

i think a team like the packers are primed for a player like barber.

Wouldnt a FA be 2 parties?

Wow. You have a defeatist mentality. So a young probowl offensive lineman wouldnt help us immediately and down the road yet a 2nd round pick in our belt will? How so?

I have to say i didnt think your comments were as bad as they really are now that you went into more depth. You have already given up the season. What else should we do while we are blowing the whole thing up? Maybe start Ogletree? Maybe see what we have in the 3rd QB?

If we can get mankins (i still dont think we can), then we have to do it. Say you use a 2nd round pick on him. Are you really going to do better than him in your most needed position during the 2nd round of the draft next year... The answer is no.

yeah cause when Ryan Grant got hurt they had us on the phone. OOOo wait, no they didnt. They were so desperate they didnt even call us. I just dont see it. I think theyd rather sign J. Jones before bringing in Barber.

Didnt another team trade with the Eagles for Mike Bell? If so how bad is Barber?
