Trade Zeke for a fifth, no us giving a fifth for contract!

Trading him? That is more viable, post-June 1, & Dallas would actually save money there. Zeke's dead money would be $5.8 million, w/a cap savings of $7 million. But that means, Dallas would be "paying the cap'' to not have Elliott, to the tune of $5.8 million.

Dallas would not get a 2021 NFL Draft pick for doing so (as it's post-June 1) & the new team would have to want a $12 million rb that his own team just announced isn't worth the money. o_O

Once you’ve committed to big contracts to players after the rookie contract runs out your basically stuck with the player because getting rid of them means “ dead “ cap $$ on your team plus the team your trading them to is buying a contract .

In Zekes case he did give you a 1000 plus yards and was an effective blocker for Dak to not get crushed in play action . I hope he commits to the 2022 season comes in to camp in great shape again and be a serviceable running blocking part of the offense. Cowboys have much bigger issues on OL & DL then 21’s roster spot.

Hard to trade him. Big contract as previous posters mentioned. And the FA market is pretty loaded this year with quality RB. He has had a lot of work over his career and that has taking a toll. Hard to trade him with the big contract and declining production. Only options are likely cut him or play him at this point.

As many have already started, trading Zeke is not an option. High salary + declining production + aging back is not the most valuable proposition for a trade. In fact, anyone willing to make this trade would be helping Dallas and hurting themselves.

Didn’t we used to have a “this ain’t madden” meme?
It applies here. As others have said no one wants that contract. Except maybe Jerry.

He is going no where. Not this year. He was injured a lot more than people realize last year. I am NOT a fan of paying that much for a RB. And was not a fan of his arrogance at first. The whole feed me thing when we were losing would irk me. He did it to much for a while. But when done occasionally it would fire the team up and show swag.
Like the wolf call from LVE.

He will be healed up and hoping the O-Line will be much better. If so then he and Pollard will give us the run game we have expected. Elliot still has gas in the tank. Again… I am not a huge fan of his. He was young and in trouble all the time. But has a lot of talent. When healthy. After this year look for JJ to get out of the contract unless we go further than last year and maybe he will want to have him back. I think we have a out in 2023.

If all goes well we will be happy to have him. He knows there is a out on his contract. Elliot will want to keep playing. And Pollard is playing for a contract also..

Best way to get rid of Zeke is during midseason to a team that has rb injuries
Would be after 2022. We have a out in 2023, his 50 million in guaranteed money will be paid. JJ basically gave Elliot a 6 year extension. Last season was the first time Elliot had been hurt. 2022 Elliot and Pollard are running for there NFL lives..

Zeke will not be released of traded, at least not this year. Dallas would not save anything while taking a big hit on the cap.

Hey a sixth would be fine to, but I expect zero compensation thoughts?

Jerry believes the greedy buds(Zeke+Dak) are taking him to his 4th Superbowl title.
Zeke or his cap hit are going nowhere......

Honestly just bite the bullet and cut him. Take as much cap hit as possible this year. There’s only one GM that would trade for Zeke and he already has him.
