Trading back makes sense

Trading is making sense to me. I traded back twice in a recent mock and landed at 18 and was able to get Emeka Egbuka there which I think is realistic. I believe you can do this and come away Egbuka, a dtackle, a corner, and a running back.

In my mock I came up with:
Egbuka
Trey Amos
Kenneth Grant
Kaleb Johnson

Of course in real life you probably don't get those 4 players, but I think you probably get Egbuka and the chance of getting 3 good players that can start at the other 3 positions.

Think if the draft goes as expected, the two players at 12 I would draft are Jeanty and McMillan. Those are the only 2 I can see being available. Would attempt to trade down if both are gone. The worry is if no one wants to trade up. Hoping Sanders falls and desirable OTs that team fall in love with are their at 12.

Have to say a trade back might be best. By all opinions from the media and apparently many teams, there are only 5 or 6 blue chip players in this draft and after that most of the grades are fringe 1st round guys to 2nd round guys. RB seems to have many good options after Jeanty through the 5th to top of 6th round. As WR, as one NFL executive quoted none of the current players at WR expected to go 1st round would have nothing better than 2nd round last year.

If we can trade back once or twice and still end up with a late 1st round pick but extra 2nd and/or 3rd and/or 4th, then we should do it. JMO.

I think so too. I've been using NFL Mock Draft Database and they usually give me a trade with the Bucs to swap round one picks and their second round pick. I've also been able to trade with the falcons to add their fourth round pick.

If Jeanty or Graham aren’t there I’m looking to trade back. Golden would be my next get in the late teens 20’s.

Has to be 2 to tango…the lack of high end talent at premium positions is going to make it harder to find a trade partner.

Obviously anything can happen, but hard to think of what player the Cowboys aren’t interested in drafting that a team will make a big jump up for.

Small trade back 4-5 slots to yield an extra 3rd/4th could be ideal depending on what's left on the board.

Exactly. There’s no qb worth trading up for so then it has to be someone who is falling unexpectedly that a team is like we gotta have him….and at that point I’d question if we should trade down from that type of player because we could use one lol.

People want a 4th rounder so bad but man this team doesn’t need to do anything stupid just to get one.

It’s so tough to tell because nobody knows what’s gonna happen with these quarterbacks for our sake I hope 3 get taken before us and some linemen. We are gonna get a good player if the Cowboys trust their board but I just hope it doesn’t get silly and they got a guy rated high on their board that everyone else has as a second.

Trading back while staying inside the top 20 is ideal, there are a ton of guys of pretty similar quality at a bunch of different positions and there really isn't a position that they should be ignoring early in the draft other than S, QB and TE in my opinion.

They could really use an extra pick or two in the first 3 rounds.

The meat of this draft is day two and that's when I think we'll see some moving around. I'm like you, I don't see the value of a team giving up a day two pick to move up for a fringe player. Dallas making a move in the 2nd to reclaim a 4th is probably more likely.

There are practically no prospects that lock me into #12.

If we can find a trading partner, then we should definitely go back.

Makes sense? It's absolutely the best course of action and it should be at 12 to maximize return. This team needs a 4th badly, you need pick in every mid-round of this particular draft.

It's like a perfect storm. Emeka Egbuka is a solid player that fits and the players that will be available from 44 to 76 at dtackle, running back, and corner.

We need a dancing partner and that is going to be difficult in this draft. I dont see anyone other teams are going to sacrifice picks for. If a money 5 guy drops, Dallas would just take that guy

Oh they can get something. The question will be will it be enough.
