Has Dak alienated much of the Fanbase

The Dak contract was horrendous when signed but as time goes on, it just gets worse.
The fact that Dak had to hold out for the Maximum amount feasible rubs me, and others I'm sure, just for the fact that he came across as more greedy than committed to winning.
Watching all the FA activity for all the other teams and how so many don't sign to the maximum but for amounts they seem respectable.
But not Dak. He didn't seem to give a squat about helping the team. He signed the most crippling contract he could for the teams sake.
Not only will his contract hinder us presently, with the restructures where they convert his salary to a bonus, he will be causing us cap problems well after he is gone for two to three years afterwards.
While his restructuring helps us short term, it will limit us for many years.

The love affair with Prescott was over long before this greedy prick signed a contract that he never deserved! When a player says his only concern was to drive up the price of his contract so that other QBs, currently playing and QBs of the future will make more money than they really deserve! This is nothing more than a sick comment made by an overpaid, over hyped, less than mediocre QB, who will never elevate his teammates to be NFC Champion game participants, let alone Super Bowl participants!

Well are you surprised? He's the same one who decided Dak is responsible for the Cowboys leading the NFL in penalties committed by the whole team for multiple seasons.

Yet, couldn't tell me any other quarterbacks in NFL history who were blamed for their teams leading the NFL in penalties.

Dak isn't elite and appears to lack what it takes to lead us to a Superbowl victory, but he's obviously a pioneer. The first quarterback in NFL history responsible for many things regarding team issues and the short comings of a 53 man roster.

As a matter of fact I do believe I said, "i don't think Dak has what it takes to lead us to a Superbowl victory".

It's called the "Fool me once" game. Prescott signed a great contract for both him and his family after his Rookie Contract expired, there is no argument there. What I and many others have an issue with is the SECOND MEGA LOTTO contract he was able to squeeze out of Jerry Jones. He honestly didn't deserve that amount of money and to make matters worse was the insane comment he made about helping current and future QBs by driving up the second contract of an already overpaid, over hyped, less than mediocre QB he has turned into. Prescott's greediness, along with our wannabe GM has turned the Cowboys into everyone's punching bag because we can't afford to sign the game changing FAs that other teams like the Eagles have been able to sign. At this point, I'm not sure who is worse, Prescott or our GM???? One this is for sure; the Cowboys will be a better organization once these two are long gone............!!!!!!!!!!

I absolutely agree with you. I definitely don't believe a quarterback wins SBs by themselves. It's a team game. Thats why I laugh when people say "this quarterback or that quarterback made it to the Superbowl in such n such amount of seasons". As if that is a quarterback's stat alone.

Cowboys have very large fan base. More than half have zero concept or knowledge of the game. They just follow the ball around, so who else are they going to blame, when the QB has the ball a majority of the time.

Any star player taking a discount for the Cowboys is a complete fool.

Daks comment was spot on...and why players don't let contracts ruin locker rooms.

Lebron James was the first athlete I saw using that excuse and he had a good reason...he took a discount in Miami and they didn't use the money properly.

Essentially team owners or Managers can lie. They aren't guaranteed to use the money you discounted them on to make the team better.

Another reason star players usually take market value is because Owners and Managers will latch on to one person taking a discount and expect everyone to do it...

It is best for athletes to play hard ball in negotiations for the benefit of other players...

The owners want something for nothing...and will use any excuse to drive down prices.
