Trading out of the 2nd isn't that bad.

The trade was even, but hey, Dallas does not have to pay a 2nd round contract. They're really not looking for replacements for starters, but backups and high upside guys with development.

I don't like it at all.

I think Wright was worth the pick and the Browns knew it.

We need still a starting FS and don't say we do not need starters. The OL isn't that and a bag of chips either. Moving up for one of the two WRs we missed in the second would have made me a little easier in my mind. Trading down was more about cap than available player capabilities.

Talent wise he was but, we were really trying to stay away from low character players.

He would have been a great pick for an immediate nickel corner, but I think he is a bit of knucklehead, and definitely a risk. Too much.

Not true. You look for talent. I am fine with trading back and picking up more picks. But you need to hit on those picks to make it a good deal...at least a good percentage of them.

But as you say drafting for backups is what got us in trouble in the 90's. Luckily that isn't Jerry's thought process anymore.

There are still plenty of guys out there who can help us next year.

Once again. We moved up in the 6th. We have a 4th instead of a 5th. We have a potential top 10 pick next year.

For what amounts to our 2nd rounder this year.

I'd do this every year. We got the guy we wanted at 22. It's a great day so far, and we'll have picks tomorrow in the 4th.

4th round picks always break my heart. You watch their stats, cheer them on and watch when they go away to some less deserving team.

Ireland may find better guys -- better clean guys -- with those later picks.

He might be in jail or suspended before he could contribute.

The guy we draft at 67 is the same guy we would have drafted at 53 according to the guys on the ticket. Good trade.

I think Wright is scary and him going to Cleveland only makes me more confident on how high our 2008 pick is going to be. I bet that makes more news in the draft reports than Michael Vick's brothers dog fighting did today.
