I dont know if it's a possibility but do any of you think Dallas could trade taco and their 2nd to a team to move up to a higher pick tonight?

I'm guessing some team out there would think "well we get a dlinemen and a 2nd round pick".

You guys think this could be a possiblity?

None at all. Taco would have very limited value. Practically none early in the draft. If they want to go from 6 to 5 maybe but that is a terrible ROI for a first rounder. Taco has flashed at times. He was hurt last season. I still think he has something. They need to give him more shorts this year. Move him to DT on pass plays. I predict Taco has a good year in Dallas.

Never know, they could. Taco and / or Lewis both could be possibilities. I doubt they move any players though. As they may still believe Taco can emerge in his 3rd year, and is insurance on Gregory not playing. Lewis in insurance against Jones not being 100% for game 1.

I just don't want to give away draft picks to move up. But one of those players, even though many do not like Taco, but if moving up 5 spots, not worth it, moving up 15 spots, then possibly worth it.

I think they can get just as good of a player at 58 though to fill. need and be BPA.

Not a hot chance in hell.... FO JJ, lil JJ whomever ain't making any trades tonight... oh and I win I was right.... LOL well even tho last night has passed already!

It would have to be a team that rated him highly in 17 and thinks they can get him playing time/improve him.
Unlikely, but you never know.

You would be extremely lucky to get any team to offer you a 6th or 7th for Taco. Totally wasted pick for Dallas. No team wants a bum and Taco is a complete bum.

In any trade that would make a significant difference to our fortunes, Taco would be a throw-in JAG.

Unfortunately, Taco’s a first-round bust; it happens. He’s nothing more or less than another (lol) of our many “rotational” players.

Accept the truth and move on.

Don't see Booger allowing bust to be called on one of his #1's just yet and there are still good DL available today.

Ya know guys, when any team makes a mistake with a 1st rounder, there aren't many safety nets. They have to hope he can turn it around this season and that begins with an attitude adjustment.

We will see if his attitude is different in TC. Probably sooner, when OTA's start soon. His 3rd year, the light could get brighter. But because of Gregory and his status in the air yet. This will be his chance. He has Armstrong to compete with, and maybe a draft pick if they go in that direction.

I am not holding out any hope, but I am not ruling him out either.

I mean you never know. Every team looks at players differently. There are maybe some teams out there that believe taco could really help them out.

I'm sure Taco is viewed as a total bust across the league.

Not imo. I mean the cowboys to me are the only team that would have reached for taco. I believe other teams would have probably taken him late where he deserved.

Cant really call him a bust then. The cowboys were just stupid but I doubt many other FO's took taco being a 1st round pick serious.

The rumor of today is
Collins RT whom is in his last yr of service
And
Hurns WR could be traded.

Collins would hold the most value and the Cowboys could be looking at the Florida OT Jawaan Taylor.

One of the packages that could be discussed is Collins and Taco plus a pick or reo from 2020

Why are you so sure of this? I can imagine several teams who might think he got stuck behind DeMarcus Lawrence, and hasn't get a real shot at being a player for the Cowboys. Just because he's not a RDE doesn't mean several teams wouldn't be interested in bringing him in as a LDE for a reasonable price. I could easily see several teams that pick in the 48-57 range who might be willing to trade back in order to get Taco, plus a 2nd round pick if the player they think the player they want would still be available at pick 58. Yesterday, Denver traded down from pick #10 to Pick #20, and still got the TE they wanted.

I appreciate that some are frustrated with Taco, but he was drafted to replace Lawrence BEFORE DeMarcus had his break out season. That's just bad luck for Taco, who was always projected to take about 3 years to develop. That doesn't mean Taco doesn't still have talent to be a valuable member of a rotation. It just means that maybe it won't happen for him in Dallas. Another team could easily come to the same conclusion, and decide they could get a bargain in trading for him by moving down a few spots in the draft.

The Cowboys got a steal in getting former 4th overall pick Cooper for the 27th pick in this draft. At the time, some Raiders fans had soured on Cooper, and mocked the Cowboys for giving up so much. How does that look now? On the day Charlton was drafted, I said his long-term upside was akin to a Justin Tuck or Tony Tolbert type career. I stand by that assessment. The reason fans are disgruntled is because their expectations were too high to begin with. That's not the fault of Charlton.

Based on gossip reports, which are inherently unreliable, it may be that Charlton has a bit of an attitude issue. But even if true, that may stem from him not getting the chances he was expecting to get. A move to another team might solve that problem for him. So, just because he might have been a wasted asset for the Cowboys doesn't mean another team doesn't still place value on him.

Taco was widely seen as a late 1st round/early 2nd round pick. He was rated as a top 35 player. The Cowboys didn't "reach" for Charlton at all. If anything, the pick of Charlton lit a fire under DeMarcus Lawrence, so the Cowboys may have indirectly benefited from picking Charlton anyway.

Anyone who ever thought that Charlton would be a good RDE was wishcasting anyway. He was always slated to be a LDE, and is stuck playing behind Lawrence, who a lot of people were calling a bust pick when Charlton was drafted in 2017.
