Where a few guys like Haden, Anthony Davis, Okung, Earl Thomas, Bruce Cambell, Donavan Warren should be
Off the top #32, #64, and a 4th should do it.

at #32 we could be put in a weird spot w/ like zone blocking OL, Taylor Mays, pass rushers, Terrence Cody etc.

We're not gonna trade up. If anything, we'll go the other way IMO/FWIW.

I doubt it. We already have limited spots available. Then factor in Hodge, Brewster, and Williams.

You trade down and you end up cutting half your draft like last year

To me, this is not the year to churn. Esp. w/ the FA rules. Guys like Ball, Spears, and Sensy have proven value.

What does it cost you to move from 30-32 to 15?

It probably costs you 1-4 to move up to #15 from 32.

I guarantee it costs you 1-3.

So you get up there to take Thomas or McClain or some other position where we already have a solid starter.

Now where is your OL depth.....

Of which we need more than one.

I don't know why peoper are 1) So enamored with 1st round picks 2) Want to trade up 3) Afraid of trading down

We've got 3 guys on our roster right now who if they keep on playing like they are are surefire HOF'ers....Romo, Witten, Austin and we used a one 3rd round pick in acquiring them all.

We've got a an All Pro NT who cost us a 7.

We've got a 12 year starting LT and multi-appearance Pro Bowler who cost us a 2.

We've got a 2nd team All Pro center and multi-year Pro Bowler who cost us a 2.

The fiery, emotional leader this team has been lacking since Irvin retired we got off the street for nothing.

One of the meanest and nastiest RT's in the game we got for nothing off the street.

I absolutely say stay the course because it is obviously working.

I'd rather have a pick at top of 2 and top of 3 vs 1 pick at the bottom of 1.

To me that amounts to Lamarr Houston and Major Wright vs Mt. Cody (and I'm a Cody fan).

Or Pouncey and Calloway vs Campbell or Bulaga.

This is a total no brainer to me unless we lose something major in FA.

1-22 makes you good.

23-53 makes you a dynasty.

Can your roster absorb injuries and FA defections and keep on rollin.

Trading up makes alot of sense if you are going to use 2011 picks to do so. The 2011 draft will be a weak one because of the huge pay cuts the rookies will be taking starting that year.

Whyd you mention only Thomas and Mcclain? A guy like Anthony Davis is perfect for us.

And Austin is a hof'r now? Easy.

Putting all your eggs in one basket is very risky and that's what trading up means.

Here's a draft value chart

http://www.draftcountdown.com/features/Value-Chart.php

Not sure how accurate it is, but even if we pick at 27, it will cost us a 2nd and 4th to move up to 15th. Then what happens if this guy is a bust or gets hurt? Then we got nothing to show.

This past year was an extreme example of trading down. We already had no first, then started at pick 50 and traded down until we landed at pick 69.

No one is suggesting we trade down till we get to round 3 or even 19 spots, but by trading down (assuming no one falls to us) we can drop 10 spots and pick up a 3rd or 4th.

I almost always like trading down. This just isnt a good year. We took 19 guys last year and cut a few. Some redshirts are expected to contribute next year. Is a late round CB going to beat out Ball? A LB beating out either Williams?

30ish to 15 is pretty big. 1st, 2nd, and 4th is about the best case.

But Im just using that as a specific spot when looking at a few guys we could use. Where #32 has potential to be tricky for us.

Like Id rather have Davis than Fox, Shipley, and Mccourty for example.

Trading up? Maybe 3 or 4 spots if necessary but even then I'm against it.

Yeah, let's use a 1, 2 & 4 to move up for Anthony Davis.

All your picks don't make your team.

Who cares?

It evens out when you score on Romo, Austin, Ogletree, Rat and Crayton.

Youre getting too theoretical. Im not Maddening it, I just think guys like Davis or Haden would be great additions over some later round guys equal to or lesser than the current depth

Like you said, we can find depth off the scrap heap. You dont get pro bowl OL or DB's just that easily

You aren't even taking into consideration what it takes to move up to top 15.

On top of that Haden is going top 10.

Gurode and Flozell are PB offensive linemen.

Where did we draft them?

Davis is a Pro Bowl offensive linemen.

We got him in FA.

Are you willing to give up a 1, 2 and 4 to move up for Davis?

What do you mean Im not taking it into consideration? I mentioned on post 1 and again later.

Yes, I would.

Picks 14-16ish should be a real sweet spot for us

27 and 59 gets you to 16. But to be more realistic, throw in a 4th b/c of A. Davis' value and/or to get a little higher.

I would too, but mostly we have no buisness drafting a a WR in rd 2.
