Dallasciwboys.com scouts notebook August 1. - basically he wasn't doing well as pass rusher but better at run defender. Had a better practice than the last two days and takes every ounce of his strength to hold up against run ect.

Heard a report on radio today that he was doing ok, but nothing special. Tapper doing better.

All of these guys are still developmental but are showing some promise.

Russell is playing well, showing some speed off the edge and is utilizing a variety of moves, killed Doug Free with a sweet spin move yesterday.

Tapper is better than advertised, will need time to develop consistency and technique but has already demonstrated speed and bull power with ability to capture the edge.

Irving is raw but is learning to use his length, he needs technique work in terms of hand placement but is quick off the edge, he may have something in the rotation to offer.

IIRC, Russell is playing a decent amount on the right side...so I wouldn't expect him to be killing it vs. T. Smith. Really hopeful for Tapper. Irving I like because I think he can disrupt things from both outside & inside.

Lawrence is looking really good. To bad he'll miss the first four, but I think he ends up having a good year.
