Heard over the weekend, on local ESPN radio, that as many as 6 of the first 8 draft picks may be holding out of their camps! Any body here anything relateing to our guys? All are surposed to be high character guys, so hopefully, no holdouts for us. Anybody?

As far as I know, we havent even sent out contract proposals to our draft picks yet. We kind of have a reputation for doing that real close to training camp. I would expect to start hearing about rookie contract negotiations in a week or so. I could be wrong though, I am not the wisest person on this board by a long shot. WoodysGirl or LaTunaNostra would probably know. I have seen them both today.

I'm not an insider by a long shot. Just a nosey cowboys fan... :)

But contract proposals have been sent to the rookies per a report last week. No holdouts are expected...

My opinion: I wouldn't hold it against them if a holdout occurred, because they were still in negotiations. That's business and for some of them, it might be their one and only NFL contract. I'm a great believer in the player getting as much as they can. The players may have great character, but I'm sure if they have a good agent, he'll prolly have a little bit of slime in him.

Yeah last Monday (i think) was the last time I poked around for contract info. Oh well, I'm only human. But I agree with you, to a certain extent. I feel that if a player will have a role on a team, even if it is minute, he should get whatever he deserves, which usually falls between what the player wants and what the owner wants to give him. But at the same time, too many players these days are ttrying to get way more than they deserve and one of two things happens, they get a short deal front loaded and waste the teams money, or they dont get a contract and bring distractions to themself and the team. That is my opinion, but I lean more to your way of thinking.
