I didn't list injuries where the player had already recovered by the start of Training Camp, such as Felix Jones' shoulder.

Some of the Hamstrings and Knee Strains are probably just sore/tight more than an actual injury. If the player is out less than a week, then I would just consider it precautionary rest.

Player cleared to return are in blue.

Pre Training Camp Injuries:
Mike Jenkins - Shoulder surgery
Bernadeau - Hip Surgery, Knee ?
Kowalski - Ankle Sprain/Tendonitis
Ratliff - Foot, Plantar Fasciitis
Coale - Foot, stress fracture
Johnson - Hamstring
Sensabaugh - Knee scope

Training Camp Injuries:
Nagy - Ankle Sprain - Same ankle that was broken last season.
Livings - Knee Sprain
Claiborne - Knee Sprain
Saalim Hakim - Broken finger
Tanner - Broken Hand
Dunbar - Hamstring
Spencer - Hamstring
Hatcher - Hamstring
Spears - Concussion
Phillips - Ankle
Austin - Hamstring

So "context" means the Giants have half the injury issues and the Eagles a little more than half.

they also have significant players out for the year. We have guys day to day. Everything is relative but you relish in panic so go ahead.

and your math sucks, the OP includes guys that have been activated/returned.

My bad the guys cleared to return are in another color. Point still stands but by all means count such that it puts things in the worst possible light.

Someone who should know told me Canty had microfracture surgery shortly after the Super Bowl.

I was very skeptical because that sort of thing is hard to keep hidden but this guy insisted on it. Something to keep an eye on.

If you're into that sort of thing.

Is it me, or do we have a high amount of injuries this year?

I think so.

If that's the case, is it just bad luck or something lacking in Garrett's authority?

I just don't think it's a coincidence that guys like Parcells don't have these laundry list of injuries every year. Where guys just rotate in and out of the injury report.

Now you're blaming injuries on a supposed "lack of authority"?

Come on man, you're better than this.

Commanders had 8 guys that didn't practice yesterday.

They have 1 guy on PUP.

Must be due to authority.

Isn't that because Parcells was notoriously closemouthed about injuries?

Yep. He didn't want the other team to game plan around injuries. And he pushed players to play thru a lot of injuries. I'm not sure you can sandbag injuries anymore though. Didn't they tighten up on that?

If you're into that sort of thing.

It has been reported that he did have a "clean up procedure" on his knee after the super bowl. It seems as though he has been having some leg problems for awhile now. He came into the league back in 2005 so this will be his 8th season and he is turning 30 this year.

He is still on the PUP list right now.

If he has had that procedure his chances of full recovery may not be that good. I still remember that season in 2007 when they kept talking about Terry Glenn coming back. IMO if Glenn weren't injured and TO didn't get injured in week 16 we beat the Giants and go to the SB. That is the danger when football players hit 30 - their level of play can fall off a cliff really fast.

You can take Sensabaugh off the list he participated in the drills today.

He had Julius playing with a cracked scapula.(?) I think that's the shoulder blade.
