Training Camp LIVE: Leighton, Tavon & More

Thanks for posting, good stuff.
I usually go to the team website to look at these videos shortly after I wake up. But trident do that today.

One thing I thought I noticed. And its no big deal. That Jaylon Smith's ankles were taped up, so it seemed.
But I am not faulting him or the team, if they are the ones that had hive taped them. As a precaution. I don't think it is from him saying he is 100% and isn't. But we shall see as TC and PS games come along.

Ambar said that Austin is now considered a WR. Need to see if the roster has him listed as that too. But then again, the roster on the team site has usually been 3 weeks behind.

Broaddus seemed not to want to give LVE too much praise, like he was down playing him a bit. Was not negative about him, but just seemed he did not want to say anything too positive either. JMO though. Basically said he was ok, but needed to learn a lot as well. But he did make sense on the part about learning to use his hands at the NFL level.
Then as he said that, he broke up a pass. A few days ago, he broke up a pass that created an interception as well. So this is why I question Broaddus's take on him.

LVE also had a strip in the offense v defense snaps the other day.

I will say it would be no surprise if LVE needs to learn a lot. He's still a green football player. That being said, he seems to have the knack to finding the ball carrier and creating turnovers. I hope he is following Lee on and off the field(film study)

I could have misunderstood your comment but the using of the hands has to do with getting off blocks. That's Leighton big weakness, everything else he does really well..... Especially in coverage and running to the ball, if not blocked

I expect good solid play from LVE this season but I think what intrigues me even more if the fact this kid with his frame could easily put on more weight and strength over his career.

That is what he meant, he needs to learn how to use his hands, to keep OL hands off of him, to get off of those blocks. But he also said, that takes time for some rookies. As everything happens faster.

I agree with he needs to learn to use his hands getting off the blocks but I see no reason why he can't learn as a rookie. From what I can tell he already is doing better with his hands. Again we need to see it in a game but that's crazy if he thinks Leighton can't learn it because he is a rookie. Dak never took snaps under center and learned in rookie mini camp, 3 days and he was looking like a pro.

I thought Wade Wilson was fired. Why is he at the TC moving around like he's a coach?

I just think that Broaddus is old school and doesn’t subscribe in giving rookies credit until they start doing it in games.. he’ll come around

Listened to Steve Dennis earlier at TC and he said Jaylon doesn't even look like the same player from last year. Said he looks like he was never injured. That's encouraging folks!

It's a shame they feel they have to provide absolutely awful coverage simply to have a woman on the show.

This.

Aside from block shedding, LVE is the real freaking deal.
