Training Camp Questions Need Advice!

Hey there CZ peeps! I am considering going to a few days of TC in Oxnard. I live in Phoenix and it is a quick 5 hour drive to get there. I wanted to ask a couple questions... has anyone been to a TC? Is it something you recommend? If so, does it matter which days to go or practices to attend? If I go, it would likely be a couple of days and then back to AZ so I thought I'd lean on y'all for some advice. Thanks in advance!!

It’s always nice to go to practice. Get to talk to players. And sometimes even coaches. Enjoy it

Oxnard is not a 5 hour drive from Phoenix....especially if you catch any kind of traffic at all....this year things are changing, from.my understanding the number of practices will be severely shortened. Better make sire you read the practice schedule. There's probably gonna be super limited attendance as well. I'd honestly skip this year and go when things are more opened up.

Yeah. When I read that my first thought was: add about 4-5 hours to that.
 
I went to a few in San Antonio. Was boring and looked as if the team was going through the motions every time I went. Much different than when the Oilers used to come here and put in work, but this is a different era of football.

That is a grownup Elroy Jetson you're talking about. If he and Astro want to go to Cowboys camp, then we shouldn't rain on his parade. Besides you can't compare our flintstone mobiles to the stuff a grownup Elroy Jetson has. Trust me!

I went to several training camps when they held them in Austin and San Antonio. I loved it. I met many players and actually got to hang with Jerry for about an hour. Do it!

I know you have amazing stories for days.
I would love to spend a few days recording you and showing you a treatment later of something that could be made.

I've actually been approached three different times to write a book about my story. My oldest brother has published 10 books. I've considered it, but I'd have to admit to a lot of things if I was truthful!! Lol!!!!

I went a couple days a week for about three years from 2014-17 and it was awesome.

We would always pay the extra $20 and get right on the fence and we had tackles take place literally five feet away. I played a lot of sports and coached basketball at the collegiate level so I've never been in awe of great athletes but I will admit I was mesmerized by the size and speed of the game that close up. It's not only violent but you hear everything. Every taunt, every F-bomb, every coaches rant, everything. Since then I always kind of check myself when I'm siting on my couch with a beer in my hand and screaming at the TV because of a stupid play or miscue because I always remember the violence and speed of the game.

All that being said I agree with others, I am not sure this is the year to go. I don't know if the Jerry Circus will be up and running (it's like a carnival of music, concessions and apparel along with a truck full of memorabilia including the Super Bowl trophies) and they might limit attendance or back people way off to protect the staff, coaches and players because nobody knows who's been vaccinated.

This is the best Post I've read, IMO, in such a long time and it actually gave me a tear.
You got me to feel like I was with you, but you did it with such wonderful simplicity! And powerful.

Made me envious and wish I was there with you to share the experience.
