A quick summary of what I’ve been reading.

QB: It’s been about as expected but on a positive note DiNucci has flashed in his limited opportunities.

RB: Reports say usage has been more varied and extensive and that both Zeke and Pollard have been consistently performers.

TE: Jarwin solid as expected with Shultz surprising a bit with progress as a reciever. He could be the no.2 ahead of Bell but hard to know as blocking doesn’t really stand out.

WR: Top 3 have been camp stars with Cedric Wilson best of the rest but a level below. Flashes from others but it looks like no.5 will be an ST guy. Doesn’t seem a reason to carry a 6th with no standout. Looks like UDFA Parker might be on the practice squad.

OT: Has been a dumpster fire with top 4 options not participating for the most part. Erving recently stepped in and hasn’t been great. Smith training early and was okay but Aldon was giving him some trouble.

OG: Connor Williams standing out with Connor McGovern getting mentions as going well. Connor Williams made some waves taking reps at center early but that doesn’t seem to have continued.

OC: Looney is starting. Not sure what’s happening behind him, it might be Redmond. Nothing to suggest Biadasz will start this season as many thought.

DT: Tristan Hill has stepped up and performed consistently but Crawford looks the starting 3T with McCoy gone for the season. Poe is now taking reps after missing time early. Could see Hamilton kept over A.Woods as backup 1T. Gallimore is still learning but will obviously make the roster.

DE: Lawrence, Griffen, and A.Smith have been beasts but with Anae also showing a bit and then Armstrong mentioned occasionally. Those looks to be the five we carry.

LB: Jaylon starring, the Wolfhunter looks healthy, and Bernard a surprise packet. Lee is injured but it’s been all quiet on Luke Gifford or Joe Thomas.

CB: Diggs has lifted his game after a quiet start, Worley has been quality in a variety of positions. Minor injuries to Awuzie and Lewis who were starting at that stage.

S: X.Woods has been good and Darian Thompson starting ahead of Haha. Wilson might also be outperforming Clinton-Dix.

I get the feeling we might go short at RB, and WR to keep an extra D-linemen, DB and 3rd QB.

Good wrap-up. Thanks.

If we aren't going to take a 6th receiver, I'd rather have a young, 3rd QB. You never know what you might have. Plus, if DiNucci is flashing you are almost obligated to keep him. You don't really know what you have in him since there is no preseason.
3 WRs will be out on the field on most passing plays. They need their backups. We don't need a 3rd QB. That's a luxury. That's what the Practice Squad is for.

LB: Jaylon starring, the Wolfhunter looks healthy, and Bernard a surprise packet. Lee is injured but it’s been all quiet on Luke Gifford or Joe Thomas.

Some good was said about Thomas today, and Gifford got some praise a few days ago.

Not this season. Not with expanded rosters. We can't risk losing a QB due to a failed test, and only have 1 QB active.
If a QB fails a test, it's very likely many other players are going to fail a test at the same time since they mostly are staying at the same hotel, practicing together and sharing the same locker room. Your reasoning holds no water. Every position needs a backup first. Carrying 3rd stringers is a luxury this team can't afford at this time for the very reason you pointed out.

Don't complain when we only carry 2 QBs.

I think it depends entirely on DiNucci’s performance. I agree we don’t need three QB’s but IMO you also don’t let a QB go if you think you’ve got something. I don’t think you can make an assessment unless your watching practice which I obviously haven’t.

Nice summary, roster seems to be taking shape. So much harder to evaluate in practice vs in game situation for some of these bubble players.

OT situation is worrisome, the players behind the starters cant even stop a rookie.

Just seen on ****NOT-AN-OFFICIAL-SOURCE*** that they are working on blitz packages with LVE.

Every training camp for 4 years this club has hyped Xavier Woods and every season our eyes tell us the truth. Enough already.

So basically the OL is a dumpster fire and the defense sounds shaky at every position except maybe DE and LB.

but we like Dinucci, but yeah he probably would survive on practice squad

Would he? The rumor was we used a 7th round pick on him because other teams were interested and we might not have had a chance to sign him as a free agent. If they cut him to put him on the practice squad they may lose him. Dalton is good but he is old and not a long term solution at backup. I am not over valuing DiNucci but why use a 7th round pick on him? can they possibly trade him?
