Training Camp aka The Circus ‐ where Dean Blandino is spotted on the bus, there's controversy, then he decides Dez didn't catch it. It's where celebrity appearances are more important than practice, and nobody follows the coach's rules. Even boy scout Witten ignored Garrett's curfew.

With the probable exception of the kicking specialists -
- long snapper, holder \ punter, and plackicker - there will be legitimate competition in many spots for both starting and backup-rotational positions for all three phases this summer.

There's not legitimate competition, unless you're factoring in contract size.

I’m looking forward to camp so we can stop speculating on what might happen and just know what is happening. It’s been a long offseason and it’ll be fun to have some facts to discuss instead of opinions or thoughts. I wish we can just hit the fast forward button and start this thing now.

There's not legitimate competition, unless you're factoring in contract size.

The Cowboys lost a few starters and backups to free agency.
So there will some spots for remaining players and/ or newcomers to fill.
Didn't read anywhere that player Xs were automatically penciled in to those roles (although rookie Cooper Beebe appears to have the inside track to become starting center).
