With all of the uncertainty of the wr corps heading into the season, I think the team should really look at putting Pollard in the slot. He excelled there in college, and has the skills, hands, speed and shiftiness to make a good target for dak in the short/intermediate game, and we don't seem to want to use him in the backfield as much as it warrants. Far easier to find another rb in the draft/fa who can contribute immediately and pair w/ zeke

Rumors comming out of Frisco Zeke could be gone after June 1st..heard that on the local radio. Again the fact that cutting Zeke is our only option is ridiculous..The GM needs to find a way to recoup things for these players. so if this is a option please keep Pollard at tailback we gonna need him.

I know youre just saying what you heard so don't mistake this with me going after you in any way....

A post June 1 designation results in 18.2 million in accelerated dead cap money for 2022, and 11.9 million for 2023 with a net result of zero cap savings.

A post June 1 TRADE however....5.8 in dead 2022 money and 11.9 for 2023 results in a 12.4 million cap savings for 2022.

Why? Because uncle Jerry and Son agreed to a base salary that would guarantee 18 months prior, when the upcoming season was already guaranteed.

In other words, uncuttable.

You'd have to convince a team to pay Elliotts 12.5 million guaranteed salary and any part of that you agree to pick up would come off the cap savings.

You'd probably have to offer a 1st and like a 4th for someone to take him. Maybe more.

He isnt going anywhere until after this season.

It's unfortunate. I'd love to be done with him.

But it just can't happen. That's what happens when you get completely hosed by agents on every single second contract (except Coopers. Somehow they did well there stunningly).

Ooh i agree fully, just cutting him would be idiotic. If they could trade him and get some picks back and ease the cap hit up..that would be wise.

Nah, just hand him the ball without feeling the need to feed Zeke if he's not playing like a #1 back.

We're not going to take a $30M cap hit on Zeke. Next year though at <$12M is a no-brainer sans a career renaissance.

It would be, but at the 12 plus salary guaranteed, who is giving up picks for that?

You'd have to attach picks.

They won't do that and they shouldn't. Need to take another year of lumps on one of the worst contracts ever.

People tend to only look at AAV, but this one is more than that.

As salaries escalate, no RB will ever see that type of contract ever again

Maybe that's why they put Jerry in the HOF.....teaching the rest of the league what not to do.

I think it would be better if they get CeeDee back in the slot and a couple of legit wide outs. Pollard should be in the backfield getting at least 15 carries a game.

best do it quick.

TPollard is UFA after 2022.
