The Last drive they just ran behind him all the way down
the field for a touchdown.

This guy is a keeper. Cut Holland.

Start Bright against Washington?

That's part of the problem. I don't think Dallas would trust him at this point to handle that role.

No matter how people feel about Holland, his experience keeps him around this season.

Best bet for Bright is if Dallas decides to put Young on IR, which I'd do.

Ah, there's the rub. Can you really see a left side of the OL being Doug Free and Travis Bright? Maybe eventually, and not that I think Holland has been all that impressive, but I just can't go there, and I don't think the Boys will either.

Agreed!

I don't know what else the guy could do to make the team...Every week he puts on a nearly flawless performance, yet it seems he is being overlooked.

I have 1000x more confidence in Bright than I do Holland. I would plug Travis in as the backup immediately and give Holland his walking papers.

how many penalties on Holland - 3

I think the team found two keepers

in Bright an Costa

both of then did not allow any one near McGee

its a tough call but hell you got to start them sometime

Amen on Bright. I went back and watched the other games. Granted lower level of competition than Holland but I just don't know what more the kid can do to say future starter. I also have been seriously underwhelmed with Holland this pre-season. (I really liked him when he subbed for Kosier two years ago.)

That's what I've been saying... The preseason is all about providing players with an opportunity to show they can play, and dare I say he has played the best out of ANY o-linemen during these past 5 games?

He has never been beaten for a sack, he is always taking care of his assignments, and has never been called for s penalty...what more could he do?

The guy has starter written all over him, and I wouldn't be the least bit concerned with him starting in place of Kosier against Washington.

I like Bright, but I think the praise is getting a little heavy here. He's had some bad plays this preseason, too, just like the other linemen ... and did not take to center well.

Anyone who thinks he's been flawless either didn't watch him close enough or is using revisionist vision.

I've watched him very closely, and have not seen any sacks or penalties caused by him. He may have had minor flaws when run blocking (not sure, I haven't seen any), but not the major drive killing ones like Holland has.

No offense, but go back and watch again. He has allowed the quarterback to be hit a few times (not sure about sacks ... can't remember). I do remember one play where Sam Young (I think) allowed a sack and Bright's man arrived at almost the same time. He's been beaten primarily by quick swim moves to his inside, but it hasn't happened all that often.

I'm not saying he's played bad, but he's had his moments. He does tend to have some problems in space, but stalemates and drives his man when he gets his hands on him.

I have, and I'm almost certain the play you are referring to was with McQuistan. Bright hasn't allowed any hits or sacks.

Not trying to nit-pick, because we are both essentially agreeing here, but I've watched him closely for two years now after he caught my eye last season.

He's getting cut.

Yes, He (Holland) is getting cut. Bright will make the 53 this year and start next year at G for the Cowboys.

I hope.:)

DC love a lot of what you say but this move would cause me so much heartburn. He, Bright, is I think the solution to a lot of Oline fixes in future years both talent and cap related. If Young doesn't go IR and we keep 10 or young does and we go 9, Holland to me is the very definition of a progress stopping move. I hope this is you making a rare bad evaluation and not insider info or me just not seeing where he isn't the future at guard.

This.

Don't worry about DC... he thinks he's in the media, which means his job description is to make bold predictions without much basis and certainly without referencing the game tape. Then people assume he has a source or they get mad about it and tune in. Either way, his show gets more ratings.

See how it works? Don't fall for it
