He will be tough to replace. I wish him well.Well that is less than ideal.
Get healthy big fella
The problem is strength. This disease affects your muscles and you lose your strength and for an NFL offensive lineman, strength is their number one asset.i said it when he was diagnosed
this disease doesn’t always leave the affected at 100% even years later
self styled forum doctors laughed at this notion
At the elite level of the NFL that 10-15% is the difference being great or below average
apparently he must not be well
I think McGovern has a shot to beat out Looney. He will need a strong camp and preseason. Looney played fairly well in 2018, and chemistry wise you should be able to plug him right in.Looney can be a decent starting C but I'd pounce in the draft if the right guy is there.
He had the 6th most tackles in the NFL last season. Obviously he could be stand to be tougher in the middle, but that’s a mindset, not a health problem. What about Jaylon Smith, can he be far behind? Been saying this all offseason....the way Jaylon looked last year....something is not right. No coach in their right mind would allow Jaylon Smith to put that on film week after week after week after week.....
He made the
Dam, out of 7 first round picks we have two guys that are totally healthy and are star players....Zach and Zeke
2/7 on first round picks is not good, we really do need to start drafting better. As for LVE, ask anybody that has ever had neck surgery if they are ever 100% again. Like others have said, dont expect a very long career out of LVE. MLB is probably the worst position on defense to play if you have a gimpy neck.

Not really true....Fred was mediocre to awful last season. Looney will be a small upgrade. Plus he’ll have jokes and be a comedian in the locker room. A jester of sorts. What’s not to like about that?
That should be fine. We have superstars at QB, RB and WR. They will carry us through.Smith Williams McGovern Martin Collins
im sorry blaming Looney for Daks holding the ball issues and the LG swinging door issues is short sighted. We gave up the most sacks in forever with Looney out there at center. Part of the problem is that he isn't very good at identifying defenses and setting up the blocking. I like Looney, but he may be at his best as a backup/fill-in instead of a starter.
I'm sure he'll get his chance, but I won't be surprised if McGovern takes the center job and Williams remains the starter at LG.
You get no likes for that comment. What a loser.
They have a few in-house options, as well as the rest of fa and the draft, they will be fine at the position. I fully expect the team designate him as a june 1st release, as they will spread his dead money over 2 years.I don't think that is the case at all.
If that were the case they never would have allowed the Giants to flirt with Looney to sign him.
This front office is inept. They were caught with their pants down with Witten on the eve of the draft.
This one just looks better because Frederick is a good fellow and did not leave the team completely
high and dry.
Yeah holy crap.

Can McGovern play center???
I think he'll get a shot at the job.McGovern maybe?
