Per @FSOhio_KGoheen, Cincinnati TE Travis Kelce ran in the 4.6s, had a 37in vertical jump at his Pro Day today. Hernia surgery after season.

Know the Cowboys are interested. Can be both a blocker and play maker. Alot of baggage though.

what kind of baggage?

Intangibles/Character

The issue with Kelce isn’t so much his ability, as character concerns. Pro Football Weekly has quoted an anonymous scout who called Kelce a ‘train wreck, character-wise. . . We wouldn’t talk about a guy with his baggage until at least the third [round].’

The crux of the matter is Kelce’s 2010 suspension for an unspecified violation of team rules, following some kind of incident on the very eve of the Sugar Bowl. Whatever it was, Kelce must have done something pretty serious to warrant a suspension not just for the Sugar Bowl game itself, but also for the whole of the 2010 season.

However, a few months ago the Bearcats’ head coach, Butch Jones declared that ‘Travis Kelce has come as far as anyone in our football program.’ One of the reasons for his turnaround is the inspiration, insight and support that he has received from his brother (and former team-mate) Jason, who started every game for the Eagles in his rookie year.

Displaying a gladiatorial attitude on the field, Kelce has also showed his toughness by playing through much of senior season with an abdominal injury.

Thanks. I know they talked to him at the combine, but doesn't seem like a Garrett kind of guy.

Kelce registers a 4.6 forty, 37-in vertical
Cincinnati TE Travis Kelce ran an unofficial forty in the 4.6s and registered a 37-inch vertical jump during his personal pro day work out.
Kelce had surgery to repair a hernia following the season, which kept him out of the Senior Bowl and Combine. He is a very intriguing inline prospect, successfully blocking defensive linemen at the line of scrimmage and improved comfort as a downfield receiver. However, Kelce was suspended for an entire season and the reasons has yet to be disclosed.

Sounds a bit like Gronkowski. Good blocker, killer athlete, injury history, character concerns.

I think Kelce is the best in-line TE in draft will go 2nd-3rd if a team is comfortable with his character...
