Had two sacks today.

Just think. We drafted Canty when we could have Cole.

This FO makes me sick.

Hey, Canty is a good player, a great 3-4 End, I don't see what the problem is here.

LOOK AT THE STATS, MAN!

THE STATS@!

I'm so sick over this. Plus, if we find ourselves clinging to a tight lead, we could count on Cole to kick teh **** out of the opposing QB!

I'm seriously laughing... but if it hadn't been you posting this, it wouldn't have surprised me to find someone serious about this. With all the b*tching that's been going on this week, nothing surprises me anymore.

no doubt...

Its like saying Sheldon Brown is a better corner than Newman because he had more interceptions last year.

The disdain for knee-jerk reactionary *****-envy threads is strong in me.

I hate my own damn thread.

I need counseling.

The love for Bobby C is strong on this board.

As is the hate... Why do you feel the need to -- as Hos would say -- "prematurely evaluate?" Don't we all WANT him to be good?? Why would you label him bust, or intimate that line of thinking when he hasn't played a game yet?

Anyone calling Jay Cutler or Matt Leinart a bust yet?

Because on any other team, a linebacker drafted #19 and then on the inactive list would have fans worried. We'd be going crazy on Skins or Eaglets fans if they did the same thing.

Cole is somebody I was very high on in the draft. However, I might point out he's the reason Philly lost against the Giants today.

It's Bledsoe's fault... he is a bust. Start Carp, oh wait he is a bust too. We should quit now.

Sure the fans would be worried... but fans are largely irrational. I mean everyone had labeled Bradie James and Kevin Burnett busts, and now look what they're doing.

And Dallas fans would be all over eagles or skins busts, because we WANT them to be busts. So you want Carp to be a bust? Is that it?

Or do you want to be the first to call it, so you can archive this thread, then later if it actually you can link to this thread and go... "See, I told ya"??

Funny you bring up Bradie James. See, here's my problem with the Bobby C pick. I'll confess and then never bring it up again because I can see it's a losing battle. Almost like the folks who thought Henson wasn't going to make it in this league, or thought Rob Petitti was overrated.

Do I think Bobby C can be a solid linebacker on this team? Sure! But do I think it's going to take some time before he becomes one? You betcha! Just like Bradie James, I could see 3 years from now, Bobby C becoming a solid linebacker that we're glad is on this roster.

Now my only problem with that is we drafted him 18th! If we wanted a solid linebacker who had the potential later down the road to be a contributor, we could have waited until the 2nd or 3rd rounds, JUST LIKE WE DID with Burnett and James. When you draft that high, you draft for an immediate starter. A special player who brings something to the table. ESPECIALLY if you pick a linebacker!

That's my main problem. No stats craziness or anything like that. I just feel we could have drafted a player like that later. Lawson had crazy speed. Wimbley was one of those special hybrid 3-4 types. Show me something that makes this player unique that early in the 1st round. Otherwise, move on. That's all. I think I'm being completely rational with this opinion. Oh well, such is life on a football message board. If ya nitpick on the fan favorites, ya feel the wrath.

OK then, who was that guy?? Who was that guy who'd be an immediate starter on our team RIGHT NOW??

Lawson?? Plays the same side as Ware, plus would be behind Ellis on the other side anyway.

Wimbley?? Wasn't there when we picked.

Who was that guy?

Yes it seems there is always a player vs. player thread because someone had a good game. I don't know what Merriman did today. But if he had more sacks than Ware. I expect to see that thread again. Which is why this board is here, for those discussions. But at least it's not as many 50,000 TO or 'who's our QB' threads :)
