Sure the fans would be worried... but fans are largely irrational. I mean everyone had labeled Bradie James and Kevin Burnett busts, and now look what they're doing.
And Dallas fans would be all over eagles or skins busts, because we WANT them to be busts. So you want Carp to be a bust? Is that it?
Or do you want to be the first to call it, so you can archive this thread, then later if it actually you can link to this thread and go... "See, I told ya"??
Funny you bring up Bradie James. See, here's my problem with the Bobby C pick. I'll confess and then never bring it up again because I can see it's a losing battle. Almost like the folks who thought Henson wasn't going to make it in this league, or thought Rob Petitti was overrated.
Do I think Bobby C can be a solid linebacker on this team? Sure! But do I think it's going to take some time before he becomes one? You betcha! Just like Bradie James, I could see 3 years from now, Bobby C becoming a solid linebacker that we're glad is on this roster.
Now my only problem with that is we drafted him 18th! If we wanted a solid linebacker who had the potential later down the road to be a contributor, we could have waited until the 2nd or 3rd rounds, JUST LIKE WE DID with Burnett and James. When you draft that high, you draft for an immediate starter. A special player who brings something to the table. ESPECIALLY if you pick a linebacker!
That's my main problem. No stats craziness or anything like that. I just feel we could have drafted a player like that later. Lawson had crazy speed. Wimbley was one of those special hybrid 3-4 types. Show me something that makes this player unique that early in the 1st round. Otherwise, move on. That's all. I think I'm being completely rational with this opinion. Oh well, such is life on a football message board. If ya nitpick on the fan favorites, ya feel the wrath.
