That's what's funny. If the supporting cast improves and the Cowboys make a run, then suddenly Romo has become a better QB. Now he's an elite QB.

I thought the guy was brilliant for most of last season. I actually felt sorry for him that his team didn't have his back.

Romo has been elite QB for several years. Unfortunately the Cowboys management has failed to put together enough good players to fully utilize his abilities and those of Ware, etc. Giants have a very good front DL who consistently get to opposing QBs--main reason they have won 2 SBs (07 & 11). Believe most of these players were drafted by the Giants.

Admit don't know much about those FAs the Cowboys just signed this year. Do see Carr improving our secondary, but how much can Poole really help. Really like the FB they've signed but wonder about the 2 OGs; hopefully at least 1 guard is another Kosier. Sure would like to sign Cowboys draft a good young OG or Center (and don't mean in the 7th round either).

Worried that little was done to upgrade the OL. Realize much of this draft will be devoted to the defense. Significant additions must be made on the DL, OLB (replacing Spencer with a better pass rusher who also good against the run). A better safety must be added along with another CB.

I must say I do enjoy reading what Trent has said about Romo the past few years and Mort has always been top notch but I think they both missed the mark here Romo has been elite for several years now.

No one outside the Cowboys circle will say that Romo is an elite QB.

At this point, he's a very good QB ... in fact, an incredible QB at times. But not elite.

Danny White was not elite ... at this point, Danny White is ahead of Tony Romo on the Cowboys QB hierarchy.

Honestly, you are right. In hindsight we'll look at this era as the one that wasted the majority of those players careers miring in mediocrity. We can only hope that the twilight of their careers end with the memories of at least one Super Bowl victory.

I want to add something witty and intelligent in defense of Romo, but this pretty much sums it up.

We've done a poor job of Romo Friendly for the Offense. He has great weapons, but he does not have great protection. He makes stuff happen that most QBs couldn't.

Get the man more OL and watch how elite he really is. His stats do matter. They tell you he is effective. What he is not, is bullet proof. He cannot leap tall buildings in a single bound. He relies on craftiness, elusiveness, and accuracy.

Personally, I'll take that every year in a QB. The only thing I can fault him with at all is that he does not have a canon for an arm.

Protection and a running game. Even in the years where our run game looks solid on paper, we've gotten those yards through scheme and trickery. A ton of delays and draws to scheme movement up front because we lack the horses to put a hat on a hat and create rush lanes.

Whenever we've had to just line it up and run it into the meat of the defense when they know it's coming, we epic fail at it. Romo's never had that support.
