So you think just by wearing the star, a player gets a 20% jump in his perceived talent? That's what he said and I still say that maybe 20 years ago that was true but not now. Do the main guys get a 20% bump in scrunity by wearing the star, yes, buts thats a far cry from saying they are perceived better in talent just because they are wearing the star.

same thing...if you are perceived as 20% better than you should be/are, then your mistakes seem bigger. its as if they are 20% better and should have 20% less mistakes and the mistakes should be 20% smaller. its all a product of improper evaluation and expecting too much. which means, 20% jump in perceived talent is accurate. its over heightened.

"The Star on the helmet gives you a 20 percent bump in perception, in talent and relevance. Even around the league. When you talk to players and coaches, there's just a perception that goes with the star on the helmet that gives you a 20% bump. I've been a Tony Romo apologist for a long time, I think he OVERCOMES a lack of talent, more than he lets the team down. And I know there are signature blunders at the end of games, but he far outweighs those with great end of game situations and carrying this team." -- Trent Dilfer.

Very well said. I've been critical of Romo more often than usual (only on this board not in the real world lol) because of Washington last year, but its very true. Romo's gaffe's a severely overblown.

But it will be this way until/unless we get a ring.

Just thought I'd share. (I've got my FB friends fuming right now)

I agree too.

How did you like the numbers on the final drive in today's game? It's OK to enjoy this one.

The only number that counts are on the scoreboard. Today we had more and that's all that matters. People will always find something to dwell about.

lol, what? We have people here who think Dez is on par with Calvin, or better.

Yes. 20% bump is very, very, true.

Who says that? There was a thread about a week ago asking posters to rank their top 10 recievers, every single poster had Calvin at 1

I actually think exactly the opposite of this. I think that you get a 20% increase in PRESSURE applied to you in all aspects by wearing the star. I think the pressure that Tony faces and the fact that he's always seemingly having to overcome that, is a good display of how talented he is. He's still facing pressure from an Oline that couldn't hold at points tonight and I think almost every receiver had huge drops or fumbled.

That 20% thing is total bs. It may have true 20 years ago but no longer.

YEAH, that Trent Dilfer guy is a liar, aint he? What does a guy that played in the NFL know about the perception around the league regarding the Cowboys? Geez Louise!

Dude, just stop.

I don't know, because immediately after watching Dilfer make that comment, I turned back to the Fox post-game, and saw Strahan talking about just how "talented" the Cowboys are... I thought ESPN's assessment tonight was spot on...

I disagree. For a period of years not too long ago we were all talking about how talented this team is and now that we look back on it and see who was actually on the team and how worthless their careers have gone since that time we can clearly see that they weren't that talented at all.

When I read what he said, that first sentence, says a 20% dump in perception, in talent and relevance. I agree on relevance and scrutiny but not perceived talent.

Ever look up the word "Perception"?

I wanted to make a thread on this but felt like I've made too many lol.

But listening to the fan, they asked Jesse Holley about how did the team feel about Romo and if he was "that guy" they wanted having the ball in his hands and he mentioned that the team never questioned Romo but said that sometimes they would question the play call that Romo received, saying "Sometimes we would look at each other and be like 'How is that [the playcall]supposed to make us succeed."

Take it for what its worth but Jason Garrett seems like he may really be the problem and as much as you all hate to admit it,

T.O. was right. He said it back when Wade was fired.

That is such crap about him overcoming a lack of talent, it says he's perfect and everyone around him sucks which i don't buy at all. Romo had a great game but he's always great in November, December is where we will see how far he's come because these games are nice and all but if it comes down to the final game against PHI i wouldn't bet on him. I'm also sick of the people who say they believe in Romo yet get nervous on final drives because that means you don't fully believe in him.

That's crap!!! People are nervous because Romo has blew it in similar type games and situations.. This coming from another Romo apologist. I've just learned to see things as they are. Until he can succeed when it matters most he will be doubted!!!

I did enjoy it, but when i hear Ben & Skin say that we can put the Romo "choker" label away and that he's clutch then i just have to roll my eyes a little. This was a good win and Romo was excellent on that final drive but i need to see more.

Romo has been off the charts the last few Decembers, so you may want to rethink that.
The man certainly has his flaws, but he's awfully good overall.
