Jim Tressell was hired as an consultant by the Colts. Will the NFL commissioner suspend him for the first 5 games as he did Terrelle Pryor. He should have never been punished for actions that happened while in college, but what will the commissioner do with Tressell. Nothing.

Pete Carroll fled USC after all its trouble and was Carroll punished by the NFL.

The player's association is a joke. They talk about being paid more money, but sit on the hands about fair treatments. The players association should have come to Pryor's defense.

I might be wrong as I don't follow this closely but wasn't TP suspended for screwing up the draft not what he did in college...did tressel screw up the draft?

No. TP was suspended for selling football items, albeit his, which is an NCAA no-no. He agreed to either sit out the bowl game against Arkansas or serve a five-game suspension at the start of the 2011 season. He chose the latter. But even more allegations surfaced against OSU, then Tressell was out the door and Terrell Pryor with him.

I think it was wrong for Goodell to suspend him five games as what he did in the NCAA has nothing to do with his NFL career. Tressell should be made to sit out too, but it aint gonna happen.

A consultant must sit out games? That doesn't make any sense. If he were on the coaching staff you might be able to pull this off but you can't stipulate something like this for front office personnel. Pryor's suspension doesn't keep him out of practice, but it does keep him off the field even though he wouldn't likely play. Will Tressell get to "practice" but not "play" as well.

I hate the double standard and agree Pryor shouldn't have been suspended, but attempting to punish Tressell isn't a good idea.

Pryor was lucky he was allowed to enter the supplemental draft. The NFL could have easily told him to wait until next year.

I found this quote by the NFL and its reason for suspending Pryor

The league informed clubs that Pryor "made decisions that undermine the integrity of the eligibility rules for the NFL draft."

which is what I thought happened...as they (NFL) couldn't carry a NCAA penalty...so Pryor was suspended for screwing up the draft atleast that is what the NFL is saying

and Tressel did not try to enter the NFL draft so probably won't be suspended.

That doesn't make sense. How did Terrelle Pryor mess with the draft. He's not the first player that left college after allegations of NCAA violations. I think the commissioner is only trying to protect the NFL's minor league which is college football. No college player should be suspended by the NFL actions that happened in college. Didn't Maurice Clarett violate the same rules. He was drafted and if he had made the Broncos the NFL would not have suspended him. I feel the NFL players should have protested this punishment because it is so totally unfair.

Tressell will not work until week 7. I guess it is a PR move by NFL to justify Pryor's suspension. The NFL should stay out of NCAA matters. The players are just handing over power to the commissioner.

Thank you.

That's one of those legal definitions that can mean everything or anything you want it too.

When guys get kicked out of school, they apply for the NFL draft. Does the NFL prevent them from getting draft then require them to sit out based on what they did in college? Pulease.
