Pats just traded a bag of donuts essentially for Michael Bennett (eagles)and have told Flowers he will be released. They chose not to tag him or make an offer. Do we take a look given Dlaw and then the Gregory situation?

I think he’d be most effective for Dallas as a run down DE who moves inside to 3-tech on passing downs. The guy is a really good interior pass rusher. He be versatile in this defense.

However, doubtful Dallas would get in a bidding war for him. He’s a good, young player though.

His name doesn’t sound War Daddy enough for Jerry, me thinks he passes on him...

Save Crawford's salary and give it to Flowers. Get younger, more talent and Championship experience to go along with his versatility that replaces Crawford's best trait. Versatility.

The pats had already told flowers to test free agency and come back to them with an offer. That was before they got bennett for a 5th and 7th.

Someone in the other thread mentioned the Rams are releasing S Joyner. You guys need to learn the difference between releasing a player and not re-signing them.

calm down man. This isnt a test. So I misspoke...HE IS A FREE AGENT. OK...there. Glad thats cleared up.

If they can get Trey Flowers and trade D-Law's rights for a first round pick, I'd be happy all offseason.

But, well, we know how this will work out. Flowers will go elsewhere, D-Law won't sign until June, shoulder surgery will keep him out of camp, and he'll have like five sacks next season.

:banghead:

I love him as a player, but he'll be really expensive for a player who really doesn't fit into this scheme. He's kind of like Tyrone Crawford but far, far better.

This is about as real as it gets. We all want to play what-if every time a good player gets cut, imagining them coming here and helping us take the next step...but it just isn't happening. Not under the Jones boys. I'd love to eat crow one of these seasons, but...

Flowers is 6'2, 265. Just one inch shorter than D-Law. Should be a great fit at end in this scheme.

Crawford is 6'4, 285 and truthfully should add another ten pounds and play DT again. He's a solid end but not a big play guy. The Cowboys can get big plays out of Flowers and get out of having to pay Lawrence the net worth of a third world country.
