Oh how I wished it would have been #9 instead……..it would make perfect sense to those here that have an unnatural hatred for a guy that isn't an immediate threat to their hero……..yet.give him 4.
No love for 22?Other than 8, 12 or 33,..and maybe 74, I don't care what anyone wear.
I'm an "old timer" myself, which is why I think Bob Lilly is a no brainer in this. Watching Cowboy games with my dad in that same era is my background as well, so I get the fond memories and the affinity for that era. It's just a personal thing, nothing against Catch22.
To an old timer like me, 33 bring back more memories of watching cowboys games with my dad. Also, 33 is Duane Thomas, my favorite Cowboy after watching my very first Cowboys game, SB VI.
.
Can't retire them all, lest they'll eventually run out of one digit and two digit numbers.
I’m a huge TD fan. Doesn’t Clark wear 33 now though? It's just a personal thing, nothing against Catch22.

Yes. on defense. I think he's a corner...I’m a huge TD fan. Doesn’t Clark wear 33 now though?
I respect 22 for what he did.No love for 22?
The image of Bob Lilly tossing his helmet after the loss to GB and chasing down Bob Griese in SB VI are forever etched in my mine.I'm an "old timer" myself, which is why I think Bob Lilly is a no brainer in this. Duane was a stud for the short time it lasted. He was part of the era when I first developed my love for the Cowboys. I can't say he overrides Dorsett in my mind, but I do view him as the original 33.
You probably know this, but the Cowboys aren't officially retiring any numbers, but there are a few that haven't been re-used
It was actually after the Super Bowl loss to the Colts that Lilly threw his helmet, but those are a couple of my most vivid memories from my early days as a Cowboy fanThe image of Bob Lilly tossing his helmet after the loss to GB and chasing down Bob Griese in SB VI are forever etched in my mine.
Yes. You are correct. It was actually after the Super Bowl loss to the Colts that Lilly threw his helmet, but those are a couple of my most vivid memories from my early days as a Cowboy fan
