As far as their readiness goes — Grier having reunited with the Cowboys in mid-November and Lance having had an entire offseason of preparation along with the regular season itself — should their number(s) get called, it's go time.

"Trey is ready to play. Will is ready to play," said McCarthy. "I like our quarterbacks room. Those guys are really sharp in their gameplans. They've been great teammates and assets in helping Cooper get ready each week, just like Cooper did for Dak.

*"Definitely decisions that we'll look at, it's not where we wanted to be there for sure." Head coach Mike McCarthy said of Rush' second interception, which was overthrown into triple coverage.

Jones wants Jourdan Lewis back, and also wants to construct a winning roster around Dak, CeeDee, and Micah

I have very little faith either one will see much playing time.
Zack Hicks hit the nail on the head; “If he is rushed into action with a weak supporting cast, it could kill his NFL career. If he ends up in a good situation that takes the time to develop him and work with him and has a proper plan in place… he could be outstanding.”

The current Head Coach has failed his player's developments for his own sense of importance...and the GM has allow for this undisciplined direction up to now. Jerry must act this time, or deserve the insults himself.

This is sad to say but I think Will Grier has more upside than Trey Lance. Still can’t believe we tossed a 4th round pick away for that guy. Looks like another blown 4th thrown away for J Mingo. Why do we covet other team’s trash. Speaking of trash, is Andrew Booth still on the roster?

But when NFL teams bring in a raw talent like Lance with no real plan for development, the responsibility shifts. One could say the system failed him, but the existence of that system in the NFL is looking more and more like a myth.

What will this mean for the soon-to-be free agent? The promise of professional opportunity and financial gain that likely lured him to declaring for the draft in the first place is slipping away.

As he heads toward unrestricted free agency in March, Lance’s story becomes a cautionary tale of how easy it is for NFL players to lose value and how little it matters whose fault it is when that happens.

There’s one last chance for Lance to get meaningful reps and remind NFL fans—and front offices—that he still has potential: Sunday’s season finale against the Washington Commanders.

Rush is probably gone next year. Lance might stay, but so far he hasn’t shown anything. If Ewers is on the board at 11 I pick him regardless of Dak’s contract.

It’ll be Week 18 and, with nothing to fight for, it might happen, but actions speak louder than words, they say.

Will Trey Lance get a chance to start in the final game of the season? Why not, Jerry? I don’t understand how you can say wins are important when you just watched what Rush did, and already being out of the playoffs with nothing to play for.

You traded a 4th round pick for him, and you are not even trying to see if he can get you value this offseason?

It doesn’t help that the Cowboys are paying Lance nearly twice as much as Cooper Rush. Rush is currently sitting with a contract paying him $2.5 million a year.

On the other hand, Lance is riding the bench for over $5 million. He’s holding on to cap money and not on the field. It makes no sense to keep him now, especially because the Cowboys never saw what they had with him.

He is going to be cut next year, this team is about to be out a 4th round pick, and $5 million dollars for nothing?

This is one time where a strong GM steps in and demands to check out investment costs on the carpet. Now!

The niners aren’t letting the boys jump them in the draft order, Purdy is out this week, so no way they are beating the Cards.

One of the few passes he overthrew the receiver
