but, but, but Jerry is saying that he's not having to move any overburden to get down to pay dirt.

We resolve to tell the boss that waiting until the last minute to sign a player, and then giving them everything they want, isn’t working.

Head Coach: Assuming I’m not canned five minutes after Sunday’s game, I resolve to understand that my style of offense doesn’t cut it against good defenses.

(coughing) GM....GM.

Rush is probably gone next year. Lance might stay, but so far he hasn’t shown anything. If Ewers is on the board at 11 I pick him regardless of Dak’s contract.
Nope.

I would lose this last game to secure that 12th spot. Trade it down into the late teens (while drafting a speedy, shifty, quick burst, deep threat, all 3 levels playmaking WR2 like Isaiah Bond) and pick up a 4th round pick (which we currently don't have thanks to dumb Jerry once again wasting our costly 4th round picks in back-to-back years). Use 1 of the four 5th round picks on a decent backup QB who has height, a good arm who can make all the throws, can read defenses and can scramble when needed. Ewers is a lost cause with his sidearm throwing which he has refused to change. His sidearm mechanics will cost him big time in the NFL. Big red flag to stay away from him.

I'm not so sure about Ewers. Local radio here in Dallas / Fort Worth is calling Ewers the weakest link on the Longhorn team right now. They don't think he's shown that he's good enough to help Texas advance in the CFP. They need someone who can be a solid replacement for #4, not another anchor.

This is sad to say but I think Will Grier has more upside than Trey Lance. Still can’t believe we tossed a 4th round pick away for that guy. Looks like another blown 4th thrown away for J Mingo. Why do we covet other team’s trash. Speaking of trash, is Andrew Booth still on the roster?
Grier can’t throw.

only here because they needed a QB3 and he already knows the building.

*"Definitely decisions that we'll look at, it's not where we wanted to be there for sure." Head coach Mike McCarthy said of Rush' second interception, which was overthrown into triple coverage.

Jones wants Jourdan Lewis back, and also wants to construct a winning roster around Dak, CeeDee, and Micah
Lewis gonna walk.

unless Jerry can find 5M per year.

It doesn’t help that the Cowboys are paying Lance nearly twice as much as Cooper Rush. Rush is currently sitting with a contract paying him $2.5 million a year.

On the other hand, Lance is riding the bench for over $5 million. He’s holding on to cap money and not on the field. It makes no sense to keep him now, especially because the Cowboys never saw what they had with him.

He is going to be cut next year, this team is about to be out a 4th round pick, and $5 million dollars for nothing?

Lance is 3rd pick 2021 draft.

possible QB1 for us someday.

Rush is…. Rush.

This is why the trade is worse than losing just a 4th.

They lost a 4th and a potential starter in free agency for a guy they don’t even trust to play.

Not much can be gleaned from Lance's potential in playing him in one game at the end of a lost season.
Same for Grier.

Cowboys QB Trey Lance doesn’t know if he’s going to play Sunday. He hasn’t been told anything new heading into the final week of the season. “I’ll be ready if I do get an opportunity.” Does Lance believe he can be a starting QB in the NFL? “Yeah. Absolutely. No doubt.”

He showed true quality this season and is already an important part of the secondary. Jerry will probably cut Stephen off and this player will be retained. He didn't diminish at all as did Cooks.

Despite it all, the veteran cornerback has not only been a vocal mentor and leader within the locker room, but also one of the best players on any side of the ball in Dallas — turning his one-year contract extension into a Pro Bowl caliber campaign.

So it's a no-brainer that the Cowboys want him to stay put when free agency arrives.

"Jourdan's just an uber competitor," said executive vice president and director of player personnel Stephen Jones. "He's a guy who's out of contract, and obviously a guy that we want to have back on this football team."

Lewis is, to this point in his career, a lifer with the Cowboys who has proven to be, well, coordinator-proof.

He will be paid.

Lewis has only ever been a Cowboy, and he hopes it can stay that way.

“Always,” he said. “Dallas is my home. My kids were born here. We’d love to have another season here, or a few seasons here. My wife loves it.

“But I know it’s a business, and we don’t know what the front office needs.”

The good news is the front office has already stated their intentions, and that one player they definitely need is Lewis.

As far as their readiness goes — Grier having reunited with the Cowboys in mid-November and Lance having had an entire offseason of preparation along with the regular season itself — should their number(s) get called, it's go time.

"Trey is ready to play. Will is ready to play," said McCarthy. "I like our quarterbacks room. Those guys are really sharp in their gameplans. They've been great teammates and assets in helping Cooper get ready each week, just like Cooper did for Dak.

you know I haven't even paid attention the last couple of games but has will grier been our emergency third has he been on the roster for these games have we had an emergency third?

By the way that would be a total kick in the nads for both fans and Trey Lance if somehow will grier got the start this game lmao
