The Dallas Cowboys have waived running back Trey Williams, according to the team website.

The move came Monday afternoon with the Cowboys still being a few days away from practicing in preparation for the Monday Night matchup with the Commanders.

The Cowboys actually signed Williams off the Commanders practice squad at the beginning of the month. The Cowboys made the original acquisition after they released running back Joseph Randle. Williams was on the Cowboys roster for four games but was never active for game day.

If Williams clears waivers, he can sign with the Cowboys practice squad.

Does anyone else think Ben Malena's the better player anyways? Whatever happened to him?

I'm guessing we will try to bring him back to PS, who took over the Cornerbacks spot?

I like Williams, he'd be good to have in camp next year w/ Dunbar coming off of injury (and being a FA obviously). Wonder if he'd choose to come back to our practice squad instead of the Commanders where he was previously. I think he's a Texas kid, so maybe.

I liked his highlights, too. But guys like him are available all over the league. He didn't have Dunbar's skill with running routes, which is what the team likes so much about him, anyway.
